$12 is likely to be a discount level targeted at people building Registry sets. They’ve talked about this many times. I doubt we get a $12 free-for-all level any time within the next couple of years. God only knows how many tens of millions of junk base cards made each year that would be profitable at that level.

That is similiar to what I had emailed Cosetta about last year...there should be some door that Set Registry people are allowed to get through. They created the Registry, so in some form or fashion, they have to allow it to continue to flourish.

They will bring back the collectors club quarterly specials for this IMO. 2000's Kobe Bryant, 70's baseball, 60's football, etc... I doubt we will see any TCG or ultra-modern specials at $12 until 2024.

Really hoping there is no UM Sports or UM TCG at $12 anytime soon, those are the main culprits of the backlog

Anything that fell in the "ultra modern" years (2018 or newer) was at a different price level when the shutdown happened in March 2021 so don't anticipate that changing. UMs (maybe 2019 and newer) probably at $25-30 and this time, TCG may be included with that too in terms of the year range. Pre-2019 cards may get the $12 level with a longer turnaround time (4-6 months?).

As far as TCG is concerned, and I can only speak to Pokemon, but I would say anything 2010 or newer should be considered UM TCG. Still tons of pack fresh, or sealed product out there waiting to be ripped and sent into PSA.

Makes sense...PSA's computer folks can easily query their pop data and figure out how far back year wise they need to go back on Pokemon cards in terms of high submission years to include those years in a new UM TCG service tier to make more money on grading those modern TCG cards.

I would think so- seems like at even $12 per, if they have the infrastructure in place to process them en masse, I would think it would be a good profit center, right? Let's say a grader spends 3 minutes per card (no idea if that's accurate, but for arguments' sake), that's 20 cards/hour, so $240 revenue per hour. Grader themself let's say makes $30/hour all in, so net $210 per hour, less all the other folks/allocated overhead involved, let's say gets you down to $100/hour net all in, so about $5 per card profit times say 500k of this level/month, which yields $2.5M net per month, $30M net per year at that level. I mean obviously this is a wildly inaccurate spitball but there would seem to be a clear path to $$$ business-wise at that level.

If you’re going to do your negative shtick, at least get it right. $50 to grade currently.

That's what will happen long term because there won't be enough worthy cards to send in even at cheap prices.

Million cards a month for the rest of life....Sure.

Still waiting on a few "I hope it's gradable but I'm fine if it's not" ebay pickups to show up before I finalize last week's allocation, so I couldn't try for one today. Maybe Thursday. And I think that will probably be my last.

Got 20 allocation today. Timed out my first so I made sure not to f this one up and already got it at the post office. Long Beach - Newport Beach shouldn't take too long, methinks.

That just means $10-12 bulk grading will be permanent.

I think I've read all 30 pages of this thread but didn't see the exact answer to this (admittedly stupid) question: I secured an allocation for 20 cards on 3/31 and thought I had to enter the cards I'd submit as quickly as possible then finalize the order to lock it in (i.e. I thought there was a chance I'd be timed out when entering in the cards I wanted to sub). I'd like to change that submission to a mostly different 20 cards but I've already entered, printed, etc. When I click "Make Changes", I get a Warning message that reads

"Editing a completed submission will generate a new submission number and an updated pricing chart.

Only click the Edit button below if you understand that doing so will result in a new submission number and the most current pricing.

Please hit the Cancel button if you want the submission to remain completed."

Does this mean I'd be forfeiting my 20-card allocation as the new pricing would actually be the lowest non-special event level? Or would I just be able to edit my list of cards and then submit under the new submission number? Or neither and I'm overcomplicating this?

Disclaimer - I don't work at PSA and can't answer your question for sure. Don't blame me if things have changed in the past two weeks.

Having said that, my own experience is that I have been able to go back in and "make changes" to an economy allocation submission before sending it in. I just had to (as you guessed) re-print everything since the sub number changed.

Thanks for this. Worked like a charm. Now I'm not rushing 20 MId-High End J-Rod's to PSA. Was able to diversify the order a bit. Again, thanks for taking the time to reply. Much appreciated.

I’m no longer getting the email to join the que an hour before the event starts. How else can I enter the que? I can’t find anyway to get in.

There's generally a link on the main page shortly after the waiting room opens up. Alternatively, the link is always the same (with the date at the end changed).
