Yea, same. Thought I had a shot and then poof gone. It’s frustrating, I just don’t know how else Target is supposed to do it right now other than something like only making things available for store pickup, or putting the inventory back in the stores and making that chaotic again. Every time they seem to have an answer, these bots get a couple steps ahead and clean out.

I come here for the excitement after reloads more than for actual reloads! Its the same b*tching arguments after people strike out every week. Good entertainment while I enjoy coffee and not work.

If we are being honest most jobs worth having it's not what you know it's who you know. For what Im suggesting anyone that follows it knows that at least the canceling orders part is easy. If every single order was a bot order it doesn't take much to cancel those orders. We have seen in the past they have banned accounts and done it for no reason. Now you have a reason to ban the accounts. You don't have to have a very high functioning iq to figure out that no manual user, ok MAYBE a 1% chance that 1 single order out of over 2,500 orders, got Select blasters today and they were all bot orders.

Could they get around bots by having a link sent to an email that you have to click on to finish the checkout process? Or are bots able to navigate multiple addresses?

Or does Target not even care?

If I was Target I wouldn't care about who gets them and just sell them online with no limits. It keeps fights out of stores and they make some $. Why would they care if a random ripper can't get his blaster fix?

There is a way to slow down (stop?) bots, but the technology just isn't there yet.

Kind of like our body's immune system, a true anti-bot system would require the ability to continuously learn on the fly. Recognize foreign objects (bots), neutralize them, and store that information for future use (all on its own). A few benign organisms might get through occasionally, but they're contained before they can wreak too much havoc. We can further bolster our defense/immune system with preventative vaccines and antimicrobials as needed.

And yeah...we're a long ways away from Target.com having some Web 3.0 type stuff like that in place.

Pretty sure once it's been up for sale, then listed as Sold Out, then disappears from the trading card page, it's gone for good this week.

Well Target does care to some level.

- they make stuff red card exclusive
- they limit some items to 3 (or even 1)
- they make you reset passwords

They just can't keep up with the bots...

My transaction was pretty nonchalant, but I was also watching closely. I actually tried a second order because I saw it was still available afterwards, but that one got cancelled.

Edit: I should add that I watch the website itself closer than this thread. By the time you see someone post "link is up!" it's usually too late in my experiences.

A) Make the cap smaller
B) look up these offenders and close down cards that fall under the same account name that's ONLY buying cards.. probably not hard to do.
C) limit traffic from the same IP
D) Invoke a lottery system
You can add up to 5 authorized users per RedCard account, which gets you 5 unique card numbers. Have one account for yourself, one for your wife, and boom -- you can get 10 red cards. A lot of botters have 20+ at this point.

A) Sure. But even with a cap of 3 it can be tough for manual users to checkout (see Donruss football last week). Cap of 1?
B) They already do try do weed out resellers, but it's super easy to just make another account if one gets clipped.
C) They do this already, which is why bots use proxies.
D) There are plenty of programs that can create fake accounts & raffle entries for you.

After this amount of time it's gone for now.

Donruss went OOS then came back a few minutes later and was able to be added to cart again. Continual button mashing still needed before checkout complete.

I think a cap of 1 and make people pay the shipping is the way to go. It'd be more work on the shipping end, but it's not like they don't ship out millions of single items per week

Fulfilling 60K 1 piece orders weekly would be the most environmentally, operationally and fiscally irresponsible thing to do. The volume of logistics required for this method is a big no.
