Steal is strong but if this guy comes up and hits all bets are off and that price will be reasonable compared to other sales. It will get harder and harder to find good copies of strong color. See Bellinger, Judge, etc etc.

But the chatter - and performance - surrounding Acuna is just different. It's not like other players, and it's honestly not even how so many different scouts, players, coaches and "experts" talk about Vlad Jr. The feel about Acuna and his performance at every level is so different that I think most are holding (while remembering what happened with Trout).

I remember the talk surrounding Trout when he came up and this is very similar.

Acuna is talented prospect and his cards are going for crazy money! But to compare him to Trout is crazy talk!!!! I completely understand not selling your whole stash but to simply hold is not the right move Sell while the iron is hot folks

The previous commentors point is getting misconstrued. He is stating, and it's somewhat true, the career trajectory in the minors has been very similar. The special buzz around both prospects was roughly on par. That comment does not mean that the poster believes Acuna's MLB career will follow Trouts.

I think most people are holding because of 2 possible projections revolving around Mike Trout and Aaron Judge and selling based on the projections of Kris Bryant:

Mike Trout: We all know the story, but it took over 3 years after his Chrome auto came out before it truly exploded. Just about 98% of people who had Trout Autos and RCs sold too soon. If you were around for this, you're holding Acuna.

Aaron Judge: From last years record breaking performance, his cards went through the roof and just kept going. This time last year, his Heritage Autos were $40, then they went to $800. People who saw this are also holding Acuna.

Kris Bryant: From his 1st Aflac auto to the 2013 Chrome in 2014 products, his autos/RC/1st Year cards were on fire. Base autos $500+? Yep, just like Acuna. He killed college, minors and then Spring Training (I believe it was 9 HRs or something like that). This time in 2015 was the absolute PEAK for his cards. Then he got sent down for his 2 week stay in the minors, then it took him like 20 games in the majors to hit a HR......and his prices were slashed in half. They eventually came back up, but never as high as they were early in 2015. If you got burned there, then you're selling Acuna for sure.

I'm hoping Acuna out shines them all and breaks every record in the book

that is why i stuck to his non autos. not much money to be lost there if things go sour.

realstically, all that needs to happen for prices to increase is he rakes in minors until april 13 and then he gets called up and prices go higher

I sold Judge WAY too early but still made some decent profit. Sold on Bryant at the perfect time, made out like a bandit. Never invested in Trout.

I think the only thing that could hurt Acuna's card values this season is a serious injury. He's the best prospect with the least question marks and shows the most promise, more promise than Bryant, Judge ever showed. Promise to be a complete 5-tool player by the age of 21.
