Penny is a good comp. He was a little more explosive in his younger days than SGA, but SGA has a unique shiftiness to his game.

Hoping he can make his first AllStar appearance this season.

Will figure out how to post them up. But your shoes came from the same place as mine. And my buddy was standing right next to the guy that was getting yours signed that same night. Think he said his name was Tino. Anyways there were about 10 pair of SGA shoes that the Thunder raffled off. If you do Instagram, my username is #J.Bentley_NBA_Collection I am way more involved in game worn shoes/jerseys than I am into cards. So check it out. SGA just happens to be my favorite player, playing for my hometown squad! (So I’m kind partial)

Shiftiness is a good way to describe Shai's athleticism... just because he doesn't play above the rim doesn't mean he isn't athletic, he has elite body control, which is how he makes getting to his spots look so effortless. Almost similar to Jokic in a way - it's body control, strength, and footwork. His length vs other guards doesn't hurt either.

Zero to a hunna real quick.

Wow. No chill when he decides to take over. Insane efficiency this year.

He's relentless. Dort is trying his best to throw this SGA masterpiece in the trash.

It makes no sense that he's turned himself into this dominant of a scorer while his 3-point shooting has continued to regress, insanely impressive stuff.

It's even more weird that Luka is doing the same thing in the same season... Idk how many 30 ppg guys we end up with this season, surely some will fall - but these might be the 2 that have the green-light, usage, and will to do it. And like you said, neither is really doing it via the 3. Steph might be my 3rd pick to hang around the mark, though of course he will always have his 3s.

Now I know who dude moves like. Lavine. To a tee. Both guys just glide/float on the floor with odd/unorthodox shiftiness.

Dort is killing the Thunder. Love his work ethic and defense, but the dude is a brick layer when it comes to shooting and thinks he is MJ floating in the lane... give those shots (and he throws up plenty) to Shai, Giddey, Mann, and Poku and you win more games... been watching this for years and he thinks he is so much better offensively than he actually is.. .dude is killing me. I stated before the year started that Shai will be an all-star, my only worry is that he can stay healthy..

Dort is flirting with Andre Roberson 2.0 territory. I'd say Dort can still do more with the ball in his hands but damn, its rough seeing him airball a 3 by a mile.

Yup, needs to stay in his lane, which is defense and occasional 3 when it's kicked out to him

Dort's pressing, but he's a lot better than he's currently playing. His career numbers indicate this is an 11 game sample slump rather than him peaking at age 23. I'm willing to cut him some slack as he's working to get in rhythm on a roster completely devoid of shooting talent outside of SGA.

Haven't bought any since 2019, but I still want to show off what I have of Shai:

Better than your player's favorite player.

Also; ya'll owe Dort an apology.

Thanks. I like his game and if he goes on to have a very successful career, then it serves to prove that old school type of offense can still thrive in the modern 3-ball era.

He's stupid good.

But OKC's stupid bad.

Hoping they can turn it around in the coming years. It's not SGA's fault he's on such a terrible, inexperienced roster.

Interesting take? Everything I see published by sports writers/journalists/National media is giving them accolades for how well they are playing, and how WELL the roster is constructed, despite being the 2nd youngest roster to ever take the court in the NBA. A team that is close to the top in defensive efficiency ratings for the first time since 2016, all the while out scoring their opponents through 13 games this season. Literally every single player on the floor for OKC can score, play defense, and contribute. (And they’re all like 20 years old.) I guess you are watching a different team than I am every night. Everything has been built organically through the draft, and is on schedule. This is the best “team” they’ve put on the court since the 16’ squad that was KD’s final team.

Let me rephrase that: roster is stupidly inexperienced. I do like a number of the pieces (save for their interior, which 'could' have possibly been addressed by Daddy Chetneck), but they're still lacking a veteran leader to calm the troops in pressure situations.

I'm not over the moon about the current lineup...they're 6-8 in a year when the non-covert we're-tanking-for-wemby-Spurs are a game behind. But there's definitely things to look forward to if you're a fan. SGA as the cornerstone is a good position to be in.

Understood. The inexperience/youth is what I like about the current roster build. I can tell you most here in OKC do not want any part of a veteran/free agent in OKC. Most are still insecure about how the Durant deal went down, in setting the franchise back 10 years by how he left. So we’re all-in on building through the draft. I like what we have currently, and hope that a healthy Chet can give them another piece to grow from. I still think it’s 2 years away from being a competitive squad. At that point isn’t one, if they’re on the verge of pushing for a deep playoff run, I can agree to adding a few veteran pieces to put them over the edge.

Absolutely. I don't think ball-dominant vet such as PG, WB, or KD is the answer. But a dude of Jerami Grant's caliber could certainly help things out tremendously.

We'll see how things fare once Chet gets back in the lineup next year. I'm excited as an outside observer.
