* The hubris of Sean Payton is laughable. He is getting just desserts for piling onto Hackett. TBH I'm pretty sure that's why Miami coaching staff decided to embarras him like that. Big no-no in the coaching fraternity.

* LOL at Sean Payton.

As a Broncos fan who has watched most of this mess (as much as I can take), this is the correct take.

Defense - No pass rush at all. Surtain II is good, inside linebackers and safeties are pretty good. The rest are all garbage.

Offense - We've heard we're a good QB away for years. Offensive weapons everywhere. I never saw it. Javonte Williams was a beast his rookie year, but tore his knee up beginning of last year. Dulcich looks good at TE, but he's out with a hammy. Jeudy has never shown anything that indicates he can be a reliable star. Him and Courtland Sutton are both WR2's at best. The offensive line has been a problem forever.

Russ - He's looked better this year, like an average game manager that would be fine if you had a great team around him. He doesn't have a great team around him, mostly mediocre players on both sides of the ball.

Payton - Yeah lots of talk with no results so far.

It's going to be a long season(s). At least we got the Bears this week and Jets next week. Maybe win one of those?

Russ - this supports the point I was trying to make earlier. In a situation like what the Niners have, a game-manager type of quarterback, just like Brock Purdy, is fine. But in a place like Denver, where there is so much work to be done to rebuild the team, Russ isn't doing anything to help the cause and he's only getting older and less likely to be any kind of positive impact on the team. I guess one could argue it's best to leave him to the wolves since they are in a re-build, but I think the better option is to eventually give the offense to Stidham and give him real NFL experience to build off of.

Payton - the fact that he's still allowed to coach in the NFL after being a siginficant part of the Bountygate scandal is one of the greatest crimes the NFL has ever turned a blind eye to. Even that piece of garbage, Gregg Williams, was allowed to come back. Both of those guys should have been banned from coaching in the NFL, permanently. I hope Payton fails miserably.

He takes bad sacks that he doesn't need to. Seems hesitant at time.
In a game where he was down 40+ and had to throw you think his stats would have been even better. I think another loss or two, and we may get to see Stidham, just to shake things up. Remember, Payton inherited Wilson, he is not married to him.
Also, let's not forget, a lot of the Bronco's woes are on their defensive side of the ball

Wilson is a top 5 qb atm on a losing team. His stats are identical to Mahomes and you want to see Stidham? At this point the Broncos are better off trading Wilson while he has some value then. I’d love to see him with Patriots or Rams.

I'm trying to figure out which method is being used to justify Wilson as a top 5 QB through 3 games.

-Counting stats? No.
-QB Grades and Metrics? No.
-Winning performances? Definitely no.
-The eye test? That might be the only case you can make, and it would be a bold one. Especially after that 50 point loss this week.
