Hit a couple of antique stores with the wife last week. Next to one about an hour up the road was a thrift shop ran by some guy and his pitbull. It wasn't much of a place (the token socks and underwear by the bundle and racks of Nokia cell phone plates.) Next to the front door was a box of about 30 older books, mostly older textbooks. He wanted a buck a piece but settled for $10 for the lot. I was happy because it had a couple of Ambrose books I haven't got to read yet, but at the bottom was a copy of this:
Mormon - Series of Pamphlets - First Edition | Bauman Rare Books - albeit in not as pristine condition.

Picked up a pair of nike free runs a couple days ago for $7, and bidding is already up to $30

gently used brand name shoes seem to be easy sale for quick profit

And I can't keep jerseys in stock. Especially champion. I purchased 17 jerseys last week and have 11 sold so far. I find a few at Salvation Army/goodwill but most I find on local selling sites via Facebook. I usually won't pay over $5-7 per if champion. The players that are a little harder to move are Grant Hill and Shaq. Champion made SO MANY of each of their jerseys. Blue Grant Hill could be the most common jersey in existence haha. What do you have sitting? DM me, maybe we can work something out.

Dude, that is an epic find. You should definitely invest in an actual Tommy Hilfiger Gameboy to go with it though. That will up the value considerably.

For the Dri-Fit, Polos, Jeans sellers out there, what are the magic price-points?

Thanks,
Tom

I agree, I'm gonna try and find one at a good price. Not really gonna try and sell it until closer to Christmas time. The big thing is, I have to figure out how to take the gameboy out of there.

I go to the local flea market almost every weekend, but after seeing this thread, I decided to give a few thrift stores a try. The Goodwills around me have really crappy clothes, but I found a few other places that are constantly getting in new inventory. I spent a few hours looking around and found everything below. Still working on listing a few things.

2 Nike Golf Dry Fit polos - $3.99 each
2 Nike Golf Dry Fit long-sleeves - $3.99 each
1 Nike Golf Dry Fit zip-up shirt - $3.99
NCCU Russell polo (looks like one that was issued to a sports team there) - $2.99
Michigan Football Adidas climalite t-shirt (looks like it's never been worn) - $2.99
Adidas climalite green golf polo - $3.99
Atlanta Braves 90's rain jacket (will probably keep this) - $2.00
TA McLendon NC State jersey (played a little for the Falcons but got into a lottt of trouble) - $2.00
Cincinnati Reds 47 Brand Retro 40's looking hat - $1.00
Pittsburgh Pirates New Era 7 1/8 hat - $2.00
Triple H WWE jersey - $2.99
Miguel Cabrera Triple Crown majestic t-shirt - $2.99
Brooks Brothers button up (no wear on it, will probably keep this for work) - $3.99

My question is, is eBay the best place to move this stuff? My girlfriend told me to try Etsy but I've never really heard of it.

And what is the best way to clean hats? I thought I would be able to clean the perspiration marks out of the Pirates hat easily, but it's proving harder than I thought.

Thanks for any help! I can upload pics of everything when I find the time to get a group picture of it all.

So to those of you fellow sellers that use Buy it Now / Best Offer. How long do you run your auctions ? I run mine for 30 days bit it doesn't seem I get a lot of views or offers until the last few days. Would it make more sense to run the BIN/BO's for 10 days instead ?

Just made a small sale from an item I purchase at Goodwill.

Rubiks Cube Revolution Titanium Edition Brand New Factory SEALED Game Free SHIP | eBay

Bought: 2.55
Sold: 10.99
Net profit: 3.93

Nothing crazy, but I'll take it.

Went looking at the local Goodwill and VoA, nothing. Mainly old clothes with holes, nothing good. Items other than clothes were mostly broken or so beaten, they weren't worth the money (some were rather high priced).

I was honestly there looking to see if they had any decent golf clubs, since I just picked up the sport a week ago. Found a nice set of Wilson ULTRA online for $115 shipped, new. But I'll keep my eye out at those places for good deals (I LOVE Under Armour clothing).

Can't remember if I shared this a couple weeks back. But found this Sand Knit early 80's Cardinals authentic jersey. Paid $2 at Salvation Armani. I'm a Cards fan but its too small. Debated getting it signed over time at games. Not sure yet!

Sorry no one got back to you. Instagram is a slow grind, you have to really build up your following. I know there is a member here that is fairly successful at it, and a ton of people do it overall.

Step by Step.

1. Be a hot girl - you will get 1000 followers in the first week. (if not a hot girl keep reading)

2. Create an instagram, using a name that relates to what you are doing helps.

3. Start posting pictures.

4. hashtag hashtag hastag the crap out of them. Also post your rules. USA ship only, Paypal only, first come first serve, etc.

5. Wait to get a following and hopefully you will make a sale.

I just started as sbclothesandcollectibles

I have posted a couple things and have gotten 215 or so followers in 2 days. I have lots of likes on my pictures, but not a single response. I wasn't quote sure if it just took time, my pictures suck, or if my hashtag things were not enough. I do not understand social media, but I'm willing to try it if it helps me sell stuff.

You have 215 followers? How the hell did you do that? Are all your hashtags #boobs #worldcup #nude #USA #soccer #sex ?

I've been posting for 2 weeks and have like 20 followers lol.

That'd be me. It's taken me almost two years but I've got almost 4K followers. Ive managed to make a decent living off of Instagram. I'd say 25% of my sales are local, the rest is online. I am however in the process of looking for storefront. Anyways. Number four is spot on. TAG TAG TAG! That's how I was able to build my customer base!
