Interesting debate here, a lot of good points being made. I was out of the hobby in '12, Bat down fever was part of what got me hooked again, and I opened a ton of '19 S2 so i'm more "invested" in NNO than the others.

There's something cool about non-serial numbered SPs & variation, and I think NNO may benefit from it's well known corner issues out of packs. Plus Vlad's got a HOF pedigree, recognizable name, and is playing on an exciting young team that appears to be selling out for '21.

It’s well-established and well-understood that the NNO was produced at a higher rate than the Bat Down. If that weren’t understood, then the NNO would easily fetch $100-plus right now (raw).

However, it’s a lot more rare than any Topps card 1-700, and still more rare than any card US1-US300.

Thus, if Vlad emerges as a superstar, he has a card in the NNO that has greater value potential than his US1 base, or a hypothetical regular-issue S1/S2.

I'm not arguing that the NNO card will have no increased value over, say, US1. It absolutely will, by many multipliers. I'm saying it's not going to cause a hobby cultural phenomenon and ever become as valuable as Bat Down. It's not Vlad's fault, the stars just didn't align.

That’s a bold statement. We don’t know how Acuna’s or Vlad’s career will play out in 5, 10, or even 15 years from now. Bat down could be in a $10 bin or it could be a 5 figure card. Same goes for the Guerrero NNO. They both have a lot to prove to stay hobby relevant.

Keep climbing! I was surprised that there are less 201s graded than NNO. Obviously the NNO has a much tougher gem rate but the total pop on the 201 is lower than I expected.

Thoughts from a random collector....

I bought my 1st NNO for 2021 this morning. Photos can be deceiving but it looked to be without any corner issues. Paid about $45US raw which is certainly more than the current market. I don't have an exact count, but takes my total a little short of 450.

Over the course of this winter I shifted my attention to 201 TC & TC refractors as they are simply a perfect rendition of the NNO. Pretty much using the Tatis market as a guide to where the funds are flowing. Have nowhere close to the same collection of TC (coulda/woulda/shoulda) been buying them when they were comparatively inexpensive to the NNO.

US1 Throwing just never did it for me at all, but certainly collected some of the lower numbered parallels (/67, /76, /99, golds and some Meijers). I had a mini red /5 at one point, but sold it about a year ago as it just didn't appeal to me. Kinda wish I had held onto it.

Bottom line.....I am so looking forward to watching the team play this year. I feel all the work Vlad has done over the past few months is going to pay dividends. I feel the batting order around him will elevate everyone's stats. He has a huge "chip on his shoulder" seeing what Tatis has accomplished and I feel Vlad collectors have a long run ahead of themselves.

I mean if Vladdy becomes what he was projected to be, the NNO is going to pop. Even at its current price I think the NNO is a good buy.

Nice little Vlad Jr mail day today curtesy of SGC300ier

These cards are super undervalued IMO. I picked up this PSA 9 for $50 DLVD, but Tatis Jr 2019 Heritage actions are going for $250 RAW. I think there’s a ton of room for these cards to grow

Also, Tatis doesn’t have any flagship SP/SSP options, so the Heritage action probably helps fill that void.

I’m a fan of the Vlad Heritage action (I went on a little buying binge a while back), but it probably doesn’t have quite the same potential as the Tatis.
