No prob. I havent tracked sales for awhile so maybe the PSA label outshines as in does for other cards but i do know, for example, about a year ago I sold the 88F MJ sticker in BGS 9 for double+ what PSA 9's went for because some people only collect BGS and the stickers are so low pop in BGS 9

Here is the first true test that the 1986 psa 10 will have.
Heritage has one that will go off in February and goldin has two of them opening for bid in a few days. The second one of goldin is better centered then the first.
Happy bidding!!

I’m pretty sure that there will be a few people who want these badly enough. I think 2 at the same time and one a few weeks later isn’t a real test. The real test would be if we would see 5+ copies at auction at the same time, like we see it every day for Luka PSA 10s. I’m not sure if it’ll ever happen.

For the 86 Fleer from a value prospective of an off centered card, is the value more or less if the card if off centered north-south than it would be if it was east-west?

i guess it all depends how it is graded, then becomes a personal preference. if im buying a 10 it better be dead center on all points or not buying...

I have see that there are more OC L/R than OC T/B but there are many of each. I say OC L/R is more prevalent.

If buying a BGS slab I would shoot for 9.5 centering or better
If buying PSA, have patience and buy the one that looks best to you centering wise.

I have seen many with very different centering T/B and L/R all with same PSA grade. So eyeball test is key and patience.

This is assuming you value Centering above Edges, Corners and Surface. You, meaning anyone, should buy the card they like and has eye appeal to their liking. It is your card and your money at the end of the day.

I need some quick help. I recently purchased a psa 7 86 fleer Jordan on eBay and got it in the mail today. It looks quite different in coloring from my other 86’s. Is it just some fading? It’s a nice card, I just wanted some opinions on authenticity before I approve the sale. The back looks similar in coloring to the other backs I have, but the front has a different shade of red and yellow. The psa number checks out, but there isn’t a picture of the card. The card on the left is the one in question

Sharp card for the given 7. It appears to check all the boxes but hard to completely verify from a computer. My thoughts would be the 7 is a result of surface fade. The card probably spent much of the 90s in a display case without UV protection. It’s real but faded.

Which, IMO lowers the value (eye appeal) considerably. I’d either send back or move soon on a quick flip. Faded inks limit the buyers pool.

Thank you very much for the quick opinions. The fade makes sense. It looked like an amazing 7 on the scan and checked the boxes.

It will be interesting to see who is left holding these when their value decreases by more than 50%.

It is least of the worries for people spending 200K on a card. Even the majority of people buying graded near mint to mint copies are not looking for a quick flip. Most are buying because they want this card for their PC and investing money that they can afford to lose.

I think these will eventually wind up over a million. It's the GOATs only rookie card and there's only 317 PSA 10s.

For perspective, what do people think a LeBron or Kobe would go for if they only had one rookie card and there were barely 300 PSA 10s of it?

Yes according to most Star experts including Steve Taft and most original Star dealers the Court Kings predates the 101 by a few months. Even though it's his first ever licensed card it's a 5x7 and from a subset so the 101 is still considered the XRC. Still a awesome card and definitely a key Jordan card.

Looks real to me. The surface is why the grade is what it is and to me, I'd rather have a vibrant, deep colored mj 86, than a well centered one, I'm in the minority on that it seems.

Thought I would also post this one here, as it's a significant card.

Fake BGS 9.5 that was sold via Probstein123

Label and case of the Probstein123 sale are counterfeit.

This thread covers some of details to look out for.
