50 posts about Collin Sexton, only happens if he’s on the Cavs.

Right. Acting like he’s a perennial all star.

Conley is even a Buckeye. Should be all over that in Ohio.

Seems to be a large portion of the folks who post these days.

Just need to be prepared to be gatekept if you are a fan or collect a player/team

Cavs fans are smarter than that. This isn’t football.

A one year Buckeye?

Pass at his age

Here's why Conley is a bad idea.

Conley costs $22.7MM in 2022-23. Getting rid of Sexton and adding Conley would put the Cavs $4.1MM over the Luxury Tax, meaning they'd need to play a penalty of $6.6MM to the league.

Conley would cost $29.3MM this year. And that might not be the worst part of the deal.

The Cavs are currently projected to be $37MM under the salary cap next year. That jumps to $44.8MM if they can get rid of the 2024 expiring Cedi Osman at some point this season. Why in the world would they want Conley to come in and eat up $24.4MM of that cap space for this age 36 season to be backup point guard at best? The answer is, they don't, and it's because they understand how the NBA salary cap works.

Blowout doesn’t care about math. Trust me

He’s an old ass Buckeye

So we need him (to be fair I would take him for free)

Maybe Michael Redd can sign and shoot some 3’s for us

You guys want to huddle up to discuss the play first? At this rate the Little Giants are gonna steamroll you.

Again, I’m sincere in my desire for the Cavs to do well. My second favorite team. I just feel Conley gets them over the hump into deep a playoff run better than Sexton and Rubio. I can’t trust Ricky’s health and shooting, albeit being a better shooter than he had been.

How many minutes do you think Conley plays? 15-18 maybe?

Garland, Allen, Mobley and healthy complimentary parts

Conley would be at best the 8th or 9th best player on the team for how they are built… this is the key

I feel like you don’t know what year it actually is

He’d get the minutes Rubio would have gotten because he’s better than Rubio.

You might be right...

Conley for Sexton probably helps this team in 2022-23.

But it hurts them in 2023-24 and on. And I don't think the goal of this franchise is to peak in 2022-23. Garland's extension gives them a 5 year window with a core of guys all currently between the ages of 21 and 24:

Garland (22)
Allen (24)
Mobley (21)

Okoro (21)
Agbaji (22)

Sexton is 23 and fits that age range. If not him, then they use the $45MM in cap space to add more guys in that age range.

Conley stands out as a leader. Maybe he needs a new team.

Basically everything Ryan Smith was saying during the season was just lip service. I guess it's time to embrace the tank.

Good news is that if they can get the Knicks to pay as much as the Wolves did for Gobert, the Jazz should have plenty of assets in the future.

Guys I watched damn near every Jazz game last season (I know, I’m sick). Conley is washed up.. he’s ass now. He’s an awful defender now. He gets blown by and pushed around. Actually watch a game, don’t hang on these ridiculous analytic stats. You feel fortunate if he scores in double digits these days. Last few months were awful for him.

NBA want's to lower age back to 18 to allow kids to jump straight from HS to NBA. At some point they will probably want to just let kids jump HS and enter NBA at 16 be like MLB allowing teams to sign international kids when they are under 18. Just the almighty dollar at work. Who cares if these kids are not ready to play at that age. Just get them into the NBA and try to market them and make money off them. No doubt most will bust and be out of NBA by 21 and broke with no future to do anything else.

I agree packman 80
Terrible Idea. Kobe was able to do it, but he is the exception. The youngsters need to get an education and degree and have something to fall back on, because not everyone makes it in the NBA.
