With non-auto X-Fractor /99 vs. Auto X-Fractor /125, or with any other non-auto vs. auto that is in close serial limitation, which one are people putting more value on? Which one do you personally prefer at the same price?
(another example may be non-auto red /25 vs. auto orange /25)

It looks like the autos have slightly more value / selling slightly higher as it should in normal circumstances, but actually not too far in value with the non-autos in comparable serial numbering?
And I'm assuming this is mostly due to the auto being stickers.

Normally, I’d prefer non-auto but I picked up the auto xfractor since Soto had so few RC autos

No, not dumb to buy raw at all. If you are buying only to turn a profit that is a different story and requires a different answer of trying to return raw cards.
Er, yes, that’s a good point. I buy raw all the time. Most of my Soto stash is raw, save for a PSA 9 Chrome! I guess my more specific question is: if you’re one who is inclined to buy raw, like I am, is this a bad time? Or is this as good as it’s getting for the foreseeable future?

Ah that's true, not much RC autos of him.
I also realized that the only RC auto of him that I have is Topps Now.
Great choice on the X-Fractor auto

There will be a correction in the US300 pricing for sure. I will always believe HMT55 to outperform US300, but... never underestimate the power of paper.

As a biased Chrome fan I disagree. If we were to see a correction I think it would be HMT55 going up. Look at Mookie Betts 2014 Paper vs. Chrome prices.

There is almost two US300 (15059) for every one HMT55 PSA 10 (8363)...and a lot more unopened update product than update chrome so that ratio won't change much.

Only thing id say about that is there is approximately 6x as much paper as chrome for mookie. And price is 2x or more

Hmt55 -8300
Us300 - 21,000

That's a fair point. The one thing I would counter with is that with the pop being almost 3x less for the HMT55, you'd think the gap in pricing would actually be bigger (and for Mookie as well)?

That 3 times is all graded not necessarily 10s which us300 = hmt x 2. And for the question, Yes and no. Im sure there is some sort of psychological barrier of entry where cards gain too much and people are less willing to pay up. Whether its principal or need funds for other ventures. Like growth slows with a leading 1 digit and people are scared in 600 range and other quirks. And eye appeal plays a big part as well. And first to market true true rookie. Some care some dont. As much as we all like to think they are the same card with different print run they aren’t identical. Different demand and different other cards within the respective packages/product line. They change the value of the box and in turn push up individual prices which feeds back into the box price. Its really fascinating stuff from about every angle.
