Strongly agree. I’ve really come around on his style. This one reminds me a little of the Art Deco type posters for the World’s Fair in the 30s. I said “a little”!

Bellinger Taylor will be a nice sub-1000 PR candidate. Taylor is always low and the Bellinger fatigue has to be setting in.

The only one I bought, but I'd love if they put up his Henderson

Seven Cody Bellinger cards....you would think he was the lord himself.

Now that is a gorgeous poster. Taylor is a master of this style, as you can see with last year’s Clemente, Ripken, Robinson, Koufax, and Mays.

Hope you get your Cub from him. Fergie Jenkins would be great.

I’d be very surprised to see this one dip below 1,000.

Only 6 have so far, all are retired, and only two are HOFers (and just one player, Sutton).

The fact that he is an active superstar with L.A. should all but guarantee this. If it doesn’t, blame the cat, not the artist or player selection.

Tyson Beck's Bellinger print run seems really low.

Do people think it is Bellinger fatigue or just not that good of a card?

Anyone receive their Ermsy Fingers companion card yet?

Mine has been stuck in USPS 'transit' for a week.

For the record, I am a Matt Taylor fan. He has some great cards in these sets. My Bellinger comment was more of a jab at him having a 7th card already.

Being hurt isn’t helping. He is 25 with a RoY, MVP, and a ring.

The card makes me think of those cat portrait memes where the cat is a floating head.

Absolutely terrible, I understand it’s the artist creation but to change the card because of a one game moment. Leave that to Topps Now. The cat has nothing to do with Cody or the Dodgers. Stupid, ruined a great looking card.

1,399 is low, but I’ll take an unfounded guess and say Taylor’s will be +/-10% of Becks PR...but not sub-1k.

Fatigue is real for a lot of these players...but never more real than Bellinger.

Case in point:

He will now have 4 instances of a grossly disproportionate release. This is made even worse by the fact that P70 is vastly more open ended with player selection than P2020’s list of 20.

Please see below for a timeline of Bellinger releases, based on his P70 card number, with the difference from the previous release in parenthesis.

1st: Card 25. This feels pretty early in the project, but at the time, we did not know what to expect. Plus, he is a major active star on one of the marquee teams who was just coming off a World Series championship.

INSTANCE #1
2nd: Card 35 (10 cards later). Think about that; 51 artists with a nearly limitless list of players available, and Belli was dropped 2x in 4 days (based on the 3 card drop at the time).

3rd: Card 83 (48 cards later). Still very close, but not too bad. Almost the entire roster of artists dropped a card before he came up again.

INSTANCE #2
4th: Card 104 (21 cards later). Way too soon for another Bellinger. Did not even get halfway through the artist list this time.

5th: Card 211 (107 cards later). There is no such thing as average distribution with the format of P70, but this feels like acceptable spacing for the first time.

INSTANCE #3
6th: Card 229 (18 cards later). Back to square one with a second Belli in 4 days (now based on a 4 card per day drop).

INSTANCE #4
7th: Card 242-245 (13-16 cards later). Now the second shortest interval to date. Again, 51 artists have many orders of magnitude greater access to players than P2020. What are the odds?

Full disclosure, I am a diehard L.A. fan. His early cards were likely fueled by recency bias with the World Series, and Belli is a very popular and likeable figure, but this is just poor execution on Topps part.

As much as we lament certain player choices, there is no excuse for this much congestion for even legends of the game, let alone a merely great player like Bellinger.

Even though Topps likely provided a list of most popular players to go by, the fact that he would be chosen so often and so close together is baffling. Is he even “hobby elite”?

Remember, he was only activated today after a month on the IL, so it is not even a case of him being in the news or playing out of his mind lately.

The mysteries of P70 endure...

Goose still looks good, but I’ll have to squint to see some of the details.

Also, is this finally another Vlad Jr?

I’m thinking Acuńa.

I just realized this when I did a "Project 2020 Fine Art Prints" search and saw the item count is 94.

I understand Vides' glossy details approach not fitting with the medium (or maybe he didn't allow prints?), but curious why the other artists are +/- five.

I'm surprised that the $225 price drop hasn't added a second print to the sold out list (currently just Ermsy's Trout).
I am surprised that they haven't dropped the price more. You release 95 and still have 94. I guess they want to sit on them forever. Maybe they will end up dumping them in the ocean like they did the 1952 Topps High Series.

Default Topps Project 2020 is the worst product since 1991 Fleer

Hint to artists reading this…
Fergie Jenkins, Ryne Sandberg, Kris Bryant (he’s on a hot streak!), Ron Santo, Billy Williams, more Banks!, Mordecai “Three Finger” Brown (come on Pardee, that’s got to be irresistible!)

Distortedd is only doing Dominicans and Phillies and still will have one of the best player selections. Says a lot.
