Thoroughly enjoyed Lemmings back in the day. We didn’t catch any artist previews last night and everyone repeated their player choice opinions throughout the day so there wasn’t much left to talk about other than the box break. And I think the box break is just something creative for buyers of a card which was already going to sell well.

I am not for a broken record Tuesday so if the cards come out with another random 10 WAR player, I’m just going to stay silent and not feed into negativity.

Ya it isn’t very easy to explain quickly (welcome to suggestions if someone can help!). As dodgersinfinity said, it is just a number that represents the order we open of cards. If you got slot #123, the 123rd card is yours…

This card doesn’t really need any sales gimmicks. I don’t get it unless it is just a promo for the breaker.

Correct- anyone can claim their card and we will ship for $1- we set the threshold as if you dont get a card you like or a big hit, didn’t want to send off a ton of cards and waste resources for something people don’t want. Of course every person can claim it even if not a big hit and they just want, and if a card goes unclaimed will give your card to kids as a donation.

Not trying to make it gimmicky- we aren’t pushing the break heavily or leading w/it in the card promotion. I just wanted to do a fun giveaway since the last ones had a finite amount of winners, that everyone would be a winner in. It also is a good cross promo between my shop & P70 and hopefully both sides can benefit a little and fans get a cool extra- but don’t think people are buying the Ohtani card just to get a break (I am biased- but agree and don’t think it needs a gimmick! I really love this card and took a LONG time to do and a ton of work and hours!).
We also are mixing random other giveaways in besides stadium club in there and there were a couple nice hits yesterday too.

On other promos like the Buxton / Twins VIP Experience or the Tatis x XBOX Controllers, I am tapping into partners and giving away stuff I thought people would really want but can’t buy themselves. I enjoy the reaction from people and making people smile here, but by no means want it to feel forced or like a money grab. TBH, the royalties from these cards are much less than I'd even get for an hour long appearance, but I do it (and put in so much work) because it is so much fun and as a collector a dream come true! I am doing all I can to create a set that lasts far beyond just this P70 year and have some pretty significant plans/projects following this coming soon in the card space

its kind of pointless to post here, or even come and read when 95% of the thread is crapping on the cards that i collect and love.

i used to defend this thread, it had tons of different opinions and takes on the cards, but it has gone almost completely negative.

the loudest voices are not even collecting the cards.
i have been buying more of the cards then ever. alot of the artist that put out terrible first several cards have really stepped game up.

everyone is complaining about these not holding value. yet, i look at sold listings and see quite the opposite. the good cards are mostly selling in the $25 to $40 range. cansecos have even been selling for $30 plus. most of you guys either have unrealistic expectations on these.

there are people that like these cards as much as yall hate them.

most of my favorite players from the 80s and 90s are considered POSs and cheaters by many here (active posters anyways). i hate to break it to you, but most of these current stars, they are roiders. they have just gotten better at hiding it. all the stars in every american sport does them in one way or the other. all that aside, I DONT CARE. i care about the sport. i do not care what the player has for dinner. i do not care if the player is on roids. i do not care if the player smokes crack. since we are only really aware of one pitcher pitching a game on acid, it was a no hitter, i say, more pitchers should try it. might work better than the sticky stuff.

I am not ok with cheaters bro. Yeah no. If I found out my Mets were cheating I would be devastated. It’s why I didn’t want George Springer last year despite most of my fellow Mets fans willing to look past his previous cheating. Now we barely hear a peep about him. It is also unfair to make a blank statement like “everybody is doing it” without literally zero proof of that.

I am sure that I have purchased as many if not more cards than you have in this project and in project 2020 but yet I can still have an opinion on the players and the cards. That’s kind of how a message board works. You aren’t always going to agree with what people say.

It’s also amusing that someone who has a handle like “stoned collector” wouldn’t care if the players did drugs. Duh!

That’s where I’m at too. This thread was started trashing P2020 because someone didn’t like the concept. It then turned into solid discussion. It was ok for all of us to profit off the P2020 boom, but isnt ok for Topps to create cards in a P70 for another year because they make money and people like them? Who cares that they’re $20. 700+ Sales happen on virtually every single card. That’s a great revenue stream for Topps and has created some really fun cards, new people to follow, and art within the hobby.

I have had more fun checking Topps’ website daily to see what comes out and what I may display than chasing any number of 1 of 10,000 autographs lately. Collect what you like. I don’t understand the desire to hop on a forum every day and tear down something you have no interest in. Find better uses of your time.
