Default Wondering…

I ordered 5 of the Card 301 - 1975 Juan Soto by Snoop Dogg and noticed the package is 1.4 lbs. Now I’m hoping there’s a foil in there since 5 - P70 cards only weigh 14 ounces.
Fingers crossed,
Vinny

I hope you get 1 Vinny and I’m not sure how accurately they measure weight in these shipments so take this for what it’s worth. All of my 1.40 boxes have had just the 5 cards in them. The 2 foils that I have received with 5 card orders have all weighed 1.60

Thanks, I figured someone here had a reference point to a heavier package.
I won’t hold my breath.
Vinny
Update: no foil but not surprised

On the flipside, I ordered a five pack weighing 1.1 lbs per the FedEx shipment facts, so unless I was shorted--which has happened before--these tenths of ounces aren't very informative. Fingers crossed. For all we know the plastic holders or even the cardboard delivery boxes weigh less suddenly [or more].

I don't think I would purchase a Ken Phelps, Jay Buhner or Jim Thome card.

I mean, I wouldn't HATE an Alvin Davis or Mark Langston card. And I can't recall if he ever suited up for the Mariners but I also used to have an irrational like of Danny Tartabull.

I agree that Frank Robinson is the biggest snub. I also believe that Eric Davis and Dale Murphy are the two overlooked 80s stars that are just waiting to overachieve on PR's. There are thousands of kids who grew up on TBS or WGN as their primary source of MLB. I watched both but preferred the Murph to anything the Cubs offered, though I'd almost definitely buy a Shawon Dunston or Leon Durham card. He was not only my favorite player as a kid, I'm not sure anyone has come close to replicating that weird baseball magic I felt watching Murph. Maddux and Acuna come close but the nostalgia factor is very real.

As for Davis, WGN AND TBS fans both saw enough Eric Davis to know he was incalculably cool. I was one of probably 17 million kids in middle America that imitated his move of slapping his glove on his thigh before catching a fly ball.

This is true. Just make sure your artists do their Tatis, Acuna, Vlad Jr, and Ohtani cards and then it's all basically the same.

Even though I am not involved in Project70 ( Yes, I did buy some early cards and the most recent Griffey auto), but I would buy a Frank Howard card.

As a Yankees fan since 1962, I always looked forward to the Yanks playing the Senators and watching Frank Howard hit.

Honestly I'm a bit frustrated because at this point only the big 5 Hobby elite cards are selling right now. The artists are considering dropping more "interesting" card choices just because PRs are down in favor of those.

It's a commercial decision, and personally I'm sad that there won't be a Benny Agbayani or Steve Carlton anymore, but it's not my effort being put into the artwork. This board and social media seems to like their work, but the PRs just aren't there anymore. Art quality seems not to matter anymore. It's just the player now.

$20 is too much for a base card
