As a Lions fan, I feel better about last week's game in the short term based on how good GB looked last night. However, in the long term, it's scary to think how good Green Bay will be this season!

Jeff Hafley is going to be the hottest assistant coach on the market in the off-season for teams looking for a new HC. He will be the new Ben Johnson.

What a fun day of football. Crazy to see Ben Johnson get sacked a bunch and throw that awful pick.

So much for the off-season champs.

Where Grid? O wherefore art thou, Grid?

So was week 1 just a fluke for Detroit or is Chicago just a dumpster fire that you don't know what Detroit is?

Both can be true. Lions played bad Week 1. Packers deserved that one. But there's still one more. Vikes with JJ could be more interesting than anticipated by most.

McCarthy must look awesome in practice…

Otherwise it was a straight management/coaching failure to turn away Rodgers and/or letting Darnold/Daniel Jones walk.

I believe O'Connell has a man crush on him.

Could be a ego thing were he thinks that he is such a good QB coach he can take anyone and make them a good QB.

Through 2 starts McCarthy is 2nd to last in QBR and last in rating. Though to be fair Cam Ward is right there with him and you can say McCarthy is a rookie QB starting also so both rookie QBs are not looking good to start the year.

All I heard on the radio this week was they need to unleash JJ!

It was a fun season while it lasted.

Let's pump the brakes on calling JJ a bust. He is only two games in. Even though, I don't really think he is going to amount to anything, he does deserve to get some games in before writing is tombstone. I do see a big divide of the Packers/Lions vs Vikings/Bears. Bears are losing 11-12 games again, they are just bad. Ben has some clean up and talent upgrades to get done. I do wonder how much patience he will have with Caleb. If Ben finds a QB in the draft he really likes, I can see them trading Caleb. I am sure a few other teams will be happy to take him. It would be a PR hit to do that with two consecutive high QB picks though (Fields isn't doing anything so I can't see Bears fans thinking that was a miss). Vikings have a good defense and plenty of offensive weapons, JJ just needs to grow into a middling QB and they an win some games this year.

Is it the offseason yet? Looking fwd to the 4-peat.

Need to tell myself to have patience with this Bears team.

Usually takes a couple of years for coaches to bring in their own guys, change the culture, install their system. Again, OL looks much improved on paper, but it takes at least half a season for a new unit to gel. Panthers revamped OL looked dismal the first part of last year but in the second half, they looked a lot better.

Credit for some rationality.

Meanwhile reports are indicating that it was yet another Grid extraction from a bowl of his own excrement this morning. Too bad he's not here to face facts!

Lions weaker Bears stronger. You all will miss BJ more than you want to admit. Without him, Jared Goff goes back to being Jack Goff.

Guess we will find out next week if it was the OL or McCarthy. JJ got a high ankle sprain sometime during the game that was not mentioned or mentioned during the post game press conference etc. Now he is out.

I am curious to get Bears' fans thoughts on Caleb. After seeing him live yesterday, it just doesn't seem like he is going to be the guy to lead that franchise. I know it was game two in an entirely new and complex system, but he seemed shaky throughout the game (even early on when the Lions were getting zero pressure and Williams had a nice comfortable pocket). I just feel like he ain't him. What say you Bears fans?

I'm still hopeful.

Caleb clearly has tremendous arm talent, which is something you can't teach. But unfortunately he's learned some bad habits (holding on to the ball too long, trying to be a hero when it's better to take a simple completion or throw the ball away, etc...). Hopefully his internal clock hasn't gotten messed up with all the sacks he took last year.

The key is whether or not Ben Johnson can correct those habits and get Caleb to play on schedule and learn to take what the defense gives him.

I gotta at least give Caleb this year to get comfortable in Ben's offense. Bad habits don't just change overnight.

There was a lot of hype on the Bears this summer, which puts pressure on Caleb because the narrative is the Bears are so much better on paper. But it doesn't always work that quickly.
