I haven't keep up too much with White but he is projected as an MLB 1B?

Yep. Supposedly an excellent defensive 1B and a goodish hitter. At least that was the book on him when he was drafted, not sure if that has changed.

Too bad they have the lefty pitching today. Knew Vogey wouldn't start again

Good ole Felix 1st innings. Should do what Tampa does when Felix pitches.

All season he has been sinker heavy. He has not been good for him. Last start he went away from it, and looked great.

This start? Right back to sinker heavy. He's gotta get it through his head that pitch is not a good one for him. I mean, keep it in there. But don't go to it so often

No idea how this game will go, but I didn't have high hopes going in. TB has lost 8 in a row so pretty soon they are going to have a game where they bust out. Biggest thing is we need tomorrow's game with Pax on the mound.

True, but at this point I think the staff and Z are just as much to blame. They don't seem to be telling him that pitch isn't an option.

Also, Spongebob is probably the best walk-up song ever.

Right at him. Unlucky.

Span cost us a run by being asleep on the Romine grounder.

Coming in I wanted to take 3 of 4. We have a good shot at that still.

This was the game I kinda figured would be the hiccup if any. Snell is really good

Exactly. I would have loved to see us win this one, but on paper this SHOULD have been a loss. I actually have to remind myself that we've had very of those games this year. Yet another sign of our improvement.

True. But to be honest I spend a lot more time watching what the Angels do than I do the Astros. I think the WC is way more realistic than the division. The Astros have been underachieving and they don't play another team who is over .500 until after the AS break.

A week or two ago I was listening to one of the AM radio sports shows and they were talking about the M's just eating Felix's contract. I REALLY don't see that happening, but I would hope the org is at least open to the idea.

Coming in to today he was at -.2 WAR, and that will get worse after today. So we're essentially paying him to hurt the team. Putting him on the bench and paying him not to pitch would make the team better. At some point the org is going to have to make some hard decisions.

They are. That decision is gonna have to come when Iwakuma is healthy and ready to go. I can understand them not feeling the pressure with Elias or Erasmo. But man, when Kuma is ready, what do you do? IF all other 4 pitchers are still doing their thing, you have to at least consider moving him to the pen. Though I don't see Felix taking that well, nor do I see the organization moving on from him, considering what he has meant to them.

Haha... I wouldn't hold my breath on Kuma. It seems like every time he throws a BP they end up shutting him down shortly thereafter. I don't think he's gotten to the point of ever doing a rehab stint, has he? Plus the guy is almost 40, so I just don't see him pitching in the bigs again. Hope I'm wrong though, obviously.

He did some bullpens. Was gonna throw live BP, then they were planning on sending him down on a rehab assignment. I know he's older, but he just turned 37 before the season started. Not a flamethrower, so he should be ok still
