What or who prompted these buyers to go buy these cards in such a short span of time?
I think people watch what others are buying and then copy their moves. Cartoon Bretts seems kind of cheap at $175 so I don’t think any funny biz was going on. Earlier I bought 2 JK5 Ichiros for 300 each. Immediately after, another buyer bought 2 at 351 each. Monkey see monkey do.

There's a ton of cards to come out still.

Yes. Some people have sadness and pain in their lives.

If you’re buying in hand cards on eBay are you worried about the centering?

Question about investment.

I bought a Ermsy Trout for roughly $80 when you factor in shipping/taxes and I bought a Mister Cartoon Clemente for $18. I sold them both a week and half ago... for about $530 after fees and shipping were removed.

I used that money to buy a Ben Baller Ichiro for $646 after taxes/shipping... I had to add roughly $100 to complete the transaction.

My question... do you just count the money you had to add ($100) as your investment into the Ichiro or the full $646. I only counted the $100.

I still have 3 sets in case they still go up in value but I grabbed some profits by selling 2. Should never be too greedy in this hobby, especially when you see a vulnerable spot.

Be safe out there gents

Hodl strong and have faith
Counterfeit sales will have no effect on the intrinsic value of baseball cards because like comic books and art, baseball cards have no intrinsic value to begin with.

I think you would add the $80 and $18 to the $100.

I count all the consideration, (most often “money”), I give for each card as my investment in that card.

If I understand you correctly, you invested $646 in the Baller card, not $100.

Thank You... The $80 and $18 were already added in. Even tho I sold them I didn't remove those amounts from my total investment.

Correct... but $540ish was from selling the Trout and Clemente... I only have the $80, $18 and $100 of my money in the Ichiro.

Depends if you believe in house money... I do not.

If you didn't take profits and it goes to 0 you lost the 540, 80 and 18.

At one point you had the money and now you have an asset you put that money into, no matter how you slice it.

But didn't the full amount of your Trout and Clemente sales become your money? That money could have been used for anything, but you exchanged it for an Ichiro.

Thank You. I wasn't expecting the recent jump but I knew it was a must have. Card #1, Ichiro, PR, Ben Baller, 1.4M Instagram followers and the $35K he said he was offered to sign a set.

My greed is so high... When I started I was happy with doubling my original $20 on two cards so one would pay for the other.

Now my struggle is should I sell 189 purchase at 5.4 times that which will buy 56 more cards.... That most likely I can sell those for 10x to buy 560 cards later. Why is this even a conversation with myself.

I wanted 1, now I can have 561.... But I want more, more, more....

Sounds good. I was going back and forth on it. You're right... the full amount is my investment.

Sunday morning Money Bear update: 19 sold ($600 most recent), 23 active listings ($675 lowest BIN) Did any Project 2020 cards move this fast? I know there are others currently higher but I wasn’t following closely when the set first came out (ugh!) and don’t know when those cards made their moves.
