the mantle is the first fucci i have willingly bought.
i didn't like his p2020, (i did end up w/ a gooden and thomas cuz cuz of lots) and the gooden is ok.
i have hated his p70 so far. that trout wasn't terrible, but not for me.
i think it just being a 53 mantle draws me in. i still don't necessarily like it, but figure its a must have for a proper p70 collection.

My favorite Mantle somehow remains the Vides for some almost inexplicable reason. We all do those "cards I love for reasons I can't quite explain" and the Vides Mantle is one of the big P70 ones for me. There's something about it that makes me happy and nostalgic and has that weird "Field of Dreams" style cheesy baseball magic.

That said, there are a few Mantles that are objectively better than the Vides:

the vides mantle is one of my favorite p70 cards as well, definitely my favorite mantle. i think most people that diss the card don't have the card. its nice. its what convinced me to do a vides set, even though his player selection has been really bad for my liking.

he said requested since the beginning. i dont think many people were requesting ohtani back in march.

i would guess bo, mickey, ellis, one of the original guys that were overly requested.

maybe he said since the beginning. who knows. i just wish i could somehow warp the clue to mean jose canseco. but, yea, im probably about the only one requesting him. he would make a good monster though.

I hope Pardee nails it whoever it is. His Randy Johnson was the last card that really did much for me.

Really looking forward to seeing what he can do with Ohtani!

Albert Belle fits that description but likely not requested by any single person!
