Fangraphs, they said in their bluejays list Vlad Jr. is heavier than 245 at 19.

If jr. has the same exact career as his hall of fame pops, what would that mean for his current card prices? I'm thinking his career would be a disappointment based on current card prices?

If he doesn’t become Mike Trout his current prices are going to disappoint a lot of people.

I really think he’s the surest thing in a while. He hasn’t “got by” anywhere he’s gone. He’s dominated. He’s to the point of being the biggest bust in history if he isn’t a perennial All-Star. He’s just as good a hitter as Cabrera was if not better. He’ll be fun to watch.

Papi was 6'4 230, Vlad Jr. is probably 6'0 260 so think Prince Fielder or Mo Vaughn.

And that’s bad how? Both were brilliant hitters.

Unless I'm missing something, he hasn't looked that close to prince in terms of weight.

It's just crazy. To my knowledge, acuna 1st chromes peaked around $30-35ish per. Does anyone recall them selling higher?

If my memory is correct, these prices are crazy. I love it, but I sold my vlad's off at like $28 per lol. Oops.

This guy has a hate on for Vlad and comments with foolishness that makes him feel better. You’re not missing anything.

Not at all, the kid can hit and will be a .300 hitter, just people need to think he's not going to be a .340 35 HR out the shoot like Jim Callis thinks he will do. I've heard for 2 years he has rebuffed blue jays efforts to go on a diet.

You just can't say that, wasn't it just a couple of years ago that Byron Buxton was going to be the next Mike Trout??? Cabrera won a triple crown and is probably a 3000 hit 500 HR 1800 RBI guy, as Harper would say that's a clown question.

Babe Ruth got fat as he got older. As do most people to a degree at least. Not everyone starts out fat as a teenager though. I am super excited to see Vlad come up and see what he can do. But anyone trying to gloss over his weight issues are only fooling themselves. It is an obvious issue for him. Hopefully he can keep it under control and light up MLB in a couple of months.

With his potential, bloodlines (father was Vlad remember, not Cecil), and modern technology, I can’t almlst guarantee you that weight will not be a negative issue. Will he ever steal 40 bags? Nope, but who cares. Also remember that players who are ripped have a much higher chance at injury. I think he’ll be just fine. Anyone saying the opposite is simply playing devils advocate and/or missed the boat. Lack of investing has made me nitpick players before as well. So I understand.

How can you guarantee weight will not be an issue? It almost certainly will.

And for the record, I didn’t miss the boat. I made a ton on him, and will continue to root for him. I love that game and love greatness. But I like to call it like I see it and not ignore potential issues like that.
