Multi-year signing so he can go out on his terms. Vince didn't want to clear him likely because of his injuries.

Agreed, same with Sting. WWE doesn't want to take those chances. It's why it took so long to clear Edge and Daniel Bryan.

Yep Bryan had several of his own docs clear him but took forever to get a WWE doc to sign off. Plus Edge and Bryan have a lot more star power to draw then a midcard talent like Christian.

I'm still very indifferent on AEW. They have some really great wrestlers, and do have some great matches but I feel they get a lot of the hype/attention/adulation because they aren't WWE. People want to root for the other company. I think they have a shot but they really need to clean some things up.
They badly need to clean their women's division up and elevate it. It's doing a disservice the way they treat it now.
The Sting pop is fun/nostalgic but Darby should be having 5-star matches with people similar to him in size on the show not dealing with Brian Cage or in weird hardcore matches all the time. He's a great wrestler - he should be showing that skill as the TNT title was supposed to be the answer to the intercontinental title.

The Street Fight was actually really good.. Darby jumping off the window onto Cage was great. I do think Cage and Starks should have won, but Sting isn't going to lose.
I do think Starks is getting a bad deal being such a weak link. Sting should not be kicking out from his spear.

I also hope they break up Inner Circle up.. There weekly meetings is getting old. Wardlow leaves this week?

Do agree that WWE has been only show for so long and has gotten lazy and bland that people fanboy out for AEW. To me AEW is no better right now then TNA was. Have a kid of a rich person funding it all trying to sign big names but the product is just not good. Storylines are worse then WWE and it's like NXT were you have everyone wanting to get their spot in but no one wants to sell anything. The Young Bucks and Cody continue to put themselves at the top because they are the book but should not be there. That's nothing but the old WCW days with the bookers putting themsleves over all the time.

They really need to figure out a strategy for their ppvs, it isn't the 90s. I'd love to watch them but $53 for an internet feed on bleacher report? That's insane. I figured they'd overbook the Mox/Omega match and I seemed to be right.

Oof bad ending to an otherwise good match/ppv. Hopefully Omega comes out on Wednesday and laughs saying that people were dumb thinking the ring would explode and they planned the sparklers because it was his ring setup that he designed.

Tag Team Title match was ok, MJF still isn't at his potential yet, and Jericho continues to look really old. I do hope they ditch the IC idea as to me it has ran it's course.

The Tag Team Battle Royal was ok, I am just shocked they let two guys who really never tagged together win. But the match was full with mostly jobbers and none of those teams are going to beat the Young Bucks.

Women's Title match was decent, I am shocked at the outcome as I figured this would be the title change, but again they throw Nyla Rose out there and she will probably get the belt back.

Hardy and Page was ok, Page is a great worker and Hardy isn't as his character just hasn't taken off the way AEW thought it would.

The Ladder match was ok, Sky makes the most sense to fight Allin as Cody would be blah, Ethan Page is new and they got ripped when they did that with cage, and Archer vs Allin would be dumb.

The Street fight was really good. I still think Cage and Starks get a bad deal in these matches. Cage should be face of the company and be next in line vs Omega.#@

The Title match was great, but the ending was dumb. We all know Moxley is getting time off, so him losing and getting hurt was going to happen, but Good brothers always interfering is getting dumb and Kingston acting hurt after that was just really strange.

I think their were some martyrs under the ring that were supposed to go off but didn’t. Earlier in the match I noticed them under the side of the ring after the ddt onto the wire/explosive. Big mess up on their part. Great show minus that.

Man, what a great PPV but a terrible ending. I don't think there was a bad match.

Hopefully AEW own that ending and turn it into part of the storyline. It could work well enough and be reasonably believable for Kenny's current character, but still - what a disappointment.
