I am guessing that privately they are getting major shows of support from their investor clients and other fanboys. And presumably the money keeps rolling in (thinking of song from Evita) along with tax-free assets for the vault.

Agree, that makes more sense and is completely logical

Bid wrong amount.
2 year old kid bid without dad realizing it.
Thought he needed the card but turns out he didn't.

1957 Topps #138 John Unitas RC

This card was sold by PWCC as a PSA Authentic Altered on July 23, 2018. Worthpoint link: https://www.worthpoint.com/worthoped...tas-1949451990
This exact card (same cert #) was again sold by PWCC as a PSA Authentic Altered on Oct. 26, 2018. Worthpoint link: https://www.worthpoint.com/worthoped...tas-1959890255
Same card sold by PWCC as a PSA-7.5 for $2,550 on March 24, 2019. Ebay link: https://www.ebay.com/itm/1957-Topps-...p2047675.l2557

Card was cracked and resubmitted to PSA and it appears as if nothing was done to the card to further alter it other than a possible evening out of the top right corner. Looks like PSA failed to measure it the second time.

As a PSA-7.5

As a PSA Authentic Altered

1948 Leaf #79 Jackie Robinson PSA 4.5 to PSA 6

Sold on 12/05/2016 as a PSA 4.5 by PWCC to whitman111 (Gary Moser) for $3,276
Consigned to PWCC as a PSA 6 and sold on 3/12/2019 for $11,600
Value gain of $8,324!

Here we have whitman111 purchasing a PSA 4.5 '48 Leaf Jackie Robinson rookie card from PWCC, cracking it out, cutting and sharpening the corners (and likely trimming the right edge), and also blackening a few print flaws. He then submitted it to PSA, which missed the alterations, awarding the card a PSA 6 grade. He then consigned the altered card to PWCC, which recently sold it. Please note: The PSA 4.5 was not in PWCC's Archive. I had to found it via Worthpoint.

https://www.worthpoint.com/worthoped...-rc-1843889788

https://www.pwccmarketplace.com/items/1923092

Conclusion: This card has been altered.

Also, thanks for all the well wishes. I'm back from my one-day vacation!

Thanks! We have a great team here on BO. A lot of guys whose only goal is to rid the hobby of as much fraud as we possibly can.

Why point the finger at PWCC only, what about PSA who are the grading professionals?

There is a 2+ year gap between the Jackie 4.5 and 6. Is that consistent with other examples that have been posted?

Welcome back Dan! Hopefully you and others can continue the momentum with this. I want my kids to enjoy this hobby without the corruption currently and that of the past

It varies to be honest. Some it's only a few months. Others 2+ years. The 1948-49 Leaf set seems to be a favorite of his. I haven't even looked at Ted Williams or the SPs yet.

Lots of cards that aren't 2.5" x 3.5".

Chicles, Leaf FB, 52 and 55 Bowmans (baseball) might be fertile ground. Low pop Look N' See maybe.

They said they can in a minute, but they aren't going to. If they did, game over for them.

My working assumption is that they simply missed certain items. They're all in WorthPoint though, so we do have full access.
