Firstly, where in Canada are you getting case from as that MSRP is nearly double that price. My LCS said they “couldn’t” order it but I say BS.

Second, what are your collecting goals? If autos and silver packs or jumbo exclusives then you only have one choice. Else hangers all the way. Here is a compare of base colour per case between Jumbo and hanger:

Jumbo : Hanger
SP’s = 5 : 7
#ed = 22 : 36
<># = 60 : 53 (gold and rainbow vs royal and rainbow)

I would also like to know where you're getting a case of hangers for $950. Those things are like $24 EACH after tax at Walmart.

Hangers are that much? I see them for $12.99 at Wallgreens

Up here 2021 Update hangers were $16.92 pre tax. Then for 2022 Series 2 they jumped to $21.92. I'm assuming Update will be the same.

I want to go hangers but Gold foil is so underrated, my understanding they are more SP then the SP at about 600 pop. - Of course the jumbos are 50% more expensive for the extra 5 autos?

Issue is that the hobby doesn’t respect the gold foils. So people can talk about a lower PR all they want. The hobby doesn’t care.

I've seen Gold foil RC's in the $50-$60 range...not too shabby.

Just got my two hobby boxes from Topps.

First break was one of the strangest I've ever had, but I'll take it. Not a single numbered card, but four SPs, and a blue ASG SP.

Yep. Usually with Walmart I've found you can do at least two orders to their max before it starts auto-cancelling them. Not going to test it on this one, but if someone out there wants a bunch of hangers, give it a shot!

His 2023 Topps S1 card will likely be the base that has his full stats. I really don't know why his '22 update will be desirable really beyond being his first flagship in a Cardinals uniform... oh wait...

Looking for some guidance, a guy from my town is in update and I'm trying to collect every variation of his card. I pulled his base from a hanger.
So far off eBay, I've got:
Rainbow foil
Green Ice
Orange Ice
Red Ice
Gold
Independence Day stars
Mother's Day pink
Father's Day blue
Black
Fortunately he's a common so the prices are reasonable (the black was the highest, it cost me $31)
From looking at the hanger box odds, it looks I need royal blue, vintage stock, Memorial Day camo and platinum. Is there a gold rainbow foil as well as the normal rainbow foil? Not sure if every card gets a printing plate either so what else do I need to have every parallel?

There should be a Gold Foil of this player. Those are exclusive to the Jumbo SKU. I'd go the eBay/COMC route to find that one, similar to what you've done with the other parallels. Good luck!
