Come on man you have been the long stand on Vlad, don't sell now. Just know I sold a update SSP Acuna BGS 10 in 2019 for $1,600 and it is the biggest regret I have in cards. That is like a $10k card now just 2 years later and who knows where it ends up at.

I think I’ll make a run at that card.

Take a closer look at the Pop report before you think you’re bidding on a low pop card. They listed the card under two descriptions...Vladimir Guerrero Jr Gold and Vladimir Guerrero Jr Throwing-Gold. There have been 327 graded and there are 117 PSA 10s.

I did that with Trout. Not saying Vladdy is Trout, but I don’t feel the want to make that mistake a second time.

The black for $1399.99 was mine. Probably should have raised it more, but it has been listed forever as low as $600 and never got an offer close to $1399.99. Sold the last of 4 sapphire 10’s to the poster above on eBay. Down to one card to keep. The orange chrome auto 10/10. So cashed out, made good money, and have a free killer card to hold. Didn’t want either a sapphire 10 or a raw black as my hold card.

Definitely seeing price movements in the throwing parallel. Also the silver pack stuff seems to be rising.

Thank you I didn’t notice, that makes so
Much more sense. Still a pretty rare card in psa 10. I wonder how how that pop will get?

There's 152 Update Gold Acuna psa 10s and I feel like the 2019 golds are at least as condition sensitive as the 2018s were (maybe more so), so that is probably a good barometer of total pop.

I'm with ya. Sold some Acunas way too early and regret it. I've revised my card holding strategy as a result to:

B to A- minus players: sell after a hot streak and nice bump in prices
A Elite players: Hold those babies. Those always another hot streak right around the corner.

I still think there is going to be a decent amount of time to pick up Vladdy stuff for a reasonable price. A bunch of my buddies who are Jays fans but have zero interest in cards say the same thing, they are all pumped about how he’s hitting but there is still small hesitation that he’ll slump and regress a little. I imagine the average collector feels the same. I think by August when he’s still at the top or leading in most of the major hitting categories people will have no choice to believe, especially when we are starting to seriously consider he’ll be the AL MVP

Two parallels between the Chrome 201 vs Chrome 21 that I think will correct itself over time are the x-fractor and refractor parallels.

Chrome 201 X-Fractor (not numbered) - 197 PSA 10s
Chrome 21 X-Fractor #’d /199 - 30 PSA 10s

Chrome 201 Refractor (not numbered) - 825 PSA 10s
Chrome 21 Refractor #’d /250 - 39 PSA 10s

Though the Chrome 201 will always be the go-to between the two products, the Chrome 21 x-fractor and refractor parallels should be outselling the Chrome 201s just based on rarity alone. As the US1 parallels continue to take off, I believe the Chrome 21 parallels will get much more love (definitely not surpassing the 201s) with the exception of the two mentioned above.

If it happens it won't gain much over 201. The TC Refractor has the iconic image that's the same as his most desirable RC and the Sapphire. Acuna PSA 10 Sapphires aren't 10k just because it's Acuna+Sapphire. It's the image that puts it in the stratosphere.

This is spot on. There will always be other great underappreciated cards to pick up that could swing higher ROI % because of their pricing but I don't see any base or parallels touching the popularity of that Series 2 card and the Chrome's which are the only Parallels of it.

As zac949 points out, the #'d Chrome Update Parallels at less than the 201 Parallels with much higher prints is an interesting play. I still would go with the 201's but can definitely see the logic in picking up those Update Parallels at relatively cheap prices.

Not that they are parallels, but I’m still finding on occasion the Topps chrome for $20 and the Update Chromes for $10. That’s not happening very often anymore, but at 50% less, I think the Update chrome has some appeal

yeah im starting to see TC in the $35-40 range though i think they will settle now around $30 as opposed to $20 a few weeks ago. Chrome updates probably around $15-18

still nice to see some movement. a Pink Refractor RC raw reached new levels around $125 lately. I picked one up around Christmas for $17

Have you guys had just as bad luck as me with some of the raws you picked up? I purchased 4 parallels from one guy and they all had pretty significant flaws on them. This was the latest pickup (refractor). I purchased an x-fractor a few months back that looked just like this.

Whaaat a gem top edge on that card is money my friend. I gemmed one at PSA a few years ago and regret that sell..that was stupid even more so then selling my gold 10’s. Pointing SP is the toughest to gem in my opinion. SSP holding ball in gem form ain’t realistic so I’m not including that card LOL fantastic pull !!!

Man I know exactly how you feel ! Just sold a raw gold US1 I owned for $30 to a fellow member here last week. Only to not remind me that someone wrote on an envelope I’m assuming on the back the the card 2 yrs ago UGH !! Paid $165 for it and the rest of the card was flawless (GO FIGURE)! I disclosed obviously the people I purchased from on the Bay said nothing. I would never expect every card I purchased to be flawless that’s not fair but noticeable imperfections like that should be disclosed EVERY TIME

A great sign: until very recently, this could be had for $50. And it has more than 3 hours to go...
