In typical Acuna fashion, was sitting on the "get me over" first pitch of the season fastball and just missed it. It's taken Nola 5 pitches to get the first two outs.

Freddie needs to do something Freddie like to lead off this inning. I'd also like to see our scoring capped off with a Ronnie slam.

I know it has only been one game, and this is not an overreaction to it whatsoever, just a thought experiment.
Would a line up of Acuna, Freddie, Ozuna, TD and then Ozzie produce better outcomes than Ozzie batting second behind Acuna? Traditionally, I love Freddie batting 3rd and had some doubts when he was switched to 2nd in the order last year. But I think we are beyond the point of traditional thinking with Acuna firmly locked into leadoff. I think he and Ozzie switched for 1 and 2 would be the most obvious fix, but definitely isn't going to happen. I just think that Freddie's plate discipline and patience would help Ronnie on the paths and score more. Freddie takes so many walks, that would put Acuna in scoring position a lot more often than Ozzie would swinging at the first pitch nearly every at bat. Putting Acuna, Freddie and Ozuna back to back to back would also be very intimidating for pitchers and would enhance the alternating Left-Right batters all the way down the line up for match ups. What do you guys think? |

Dont the Phillies always dominate us every opening week? I mean this has become a regular thing and then they fall apart. 160 to go.

Bad start, but not as bad as it seems. Game 1 could have easily been ours. 2 homers that the wind kept, a rocket by Ozuna that was robbed, etc. Everything went right for the Phillies and they still just barely won. I feel good about that loss. Today was just Wheeler getting in a groove and dominating. He looked awesome. I have zero concern, but I’m ready to get that first win.

I wonder if Snitker would consider moving Freeman back to 2nd in the lineup with Ozuna 3rd? Too soon to make changes, but I really liked Freeman batting behind Acuna.

I blame this start of the season on the title of this thread. That’s all
