Do you realize you just proved my original point. Opensea and Rarible are TWO different marketplaces, AND that money doesn't funnel back to Panini (or Dapper). But by all means, continue down this road...

Correct, he's pretty much drowning in his own vomit right now.

And again, that's TWO different marketplaces....so where is this dedicated marketplace that you're talking about? I know English may not be your first language so we're willing to let this one slide.

You just prove more and more with each post that you have absolutely no idea how blockchains or NFTs work.

Please, can you write up a smart contract that allows you to off market transfer a tezos based hic et nunc NFT asset? I can’t wait to see what you come up with.

Since it’s so easy to transact without marketplaces you should be able to do it super quick

No one said anything about off market transfer. Please re-read the entire thread before responding again. Again, YOU (hint, that's you) brought up dedicated marketplace, a few of us brought up different examples and then you went all David Korresh on us threatening to blow everything up.

This is probably a stupid question but I'll ask anyways. Why wouldn't Panini make physical cards using this technology? I would love cards that could be traced if stolen but I might be totally missing the point here. I guess I can't ever see people totally getting away from physically owning a card but maybe I just don't understand it.

They actually do have these at Panini Blockchain, all Dutch auctions for the Blockchain 1/1s are a pair of a NFT and the exact same physical card.
If Panini gets things going they could put much more utilization into their NFTs.

Though regarding the tracing both are not necessarily connected (physical one could still be stolen), you can split the pairs whenever you like.

Do we know how many were produced? I'd guess over 5 based on the 1 pack/transaction

Wouldn't put it past them. Did Topps announce how many packs they were producing prior to their NFT release?

Yes, they had a mint amount for regular and premium packs. Same with Opening Day packs.

The person in charge of IT at Panini should not be employed.

I'm guessing it's a mint on demand. The sale is limited to 24 hrs but no indication on a limit to how many are available. It says:
*Packs will be auto credited to accounts within 2-4 business days after the minting process*

That indicates to me that they will mint as many as they sell at the end of 24 hrs

I am sure it is print to demand within 24 hours...then they take 2-4 days to deliver because they pre-mint to the number bought and randomly distribute within the packs

Pretty smart IMO

I don't think it's as easy as it sounds to combat bots and tens of thousands of people rushing the site.

Would have bought if able to but won't bother. Will come back and try again later. It's not THAT serious.

Yeah, makes sense.

I hope bots are gobbling these up. I don't mind buying a pack or 2 to try it out. But for the botbois getting 100s or 1000s, have at it.
