Anyone grossed out with Brandon Marsh’s hair!? Looks nasty, lol.
Nice run through the stop sign for Bryce for the insurance run. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Best moment of the game. That third base coach stinks. Holds schwarb, sends Castellanos, and tries to hold Harper…

Would love to be in that stadium, sure seems like it would be a lot of fun! Rocking and rolling.

Brewers are probably done. Lost sp for tomorrow, closer gave up a bunch of runs tonight, left a ton of guys on. Really bad loss all around.

Game 1 you can't even fill 80% of the seats? Why do they still have a team? |

the trop only has 25k seats total?
Playing the rangers in the middle of the day on a weekday is going to be tough to fill on short notice. |

Yeah the setup for baseball is now down to 25k, but the actual building capacity is around 42k.

Since 2019, the Rays have taken to tarping off the entire upper deck, reducing Tropicana Field’s seating capacity to 25,000 and making it MLB’s smallest ballpark.
From what little I saw the upper deck looked to be open today. If so they really had under 50% capacity. Sent from my SM-A546U1 using Tapatalk |

People in Tampa do care. Problem is getting to the stadium from Tampa is brutal. Why they decided to build a new stadium in nearly the same location is ridiculous.

Getting caught up on yesterday's non-Twins action:
Man, what an ugly game played by the Rays. Extremely uncharacteristic, will be interesting to see if they can bounce back from that or not Arizona over Brewers in game 1 feels like a massive upset. 5.75 ERA and rookie Brandon Pfaadt on the mound against Corbin Burnes, and the Dbacks come away with a win. I'd be content with either team from this series making a run, but at this point I'm pulling for the Dbacks. Great chance to move on today too with Gallen on the mound Phillies/Marlins went as expected. Very happy to see Arraez in action even though he's clearly not close to 100%. Took him a few ABs, but got a hit, too! Rooting for the Marlins to come back in this one for sure, but they feel very overmatched

Taylor Swift on Sun night, did a 6.67 rating and 24.8m viewers. I'm wondering how many mlb playoff games it takes to get to those numbers. Should get the first batch today.

The Brewers won the first inning. Arizona won the other 8.

The Yahoo News headline is: “Lowest crowd for a playoffs game in a century.”

The fun part is that century ago game was the 1919 ws and the way they sold tickets was a bit odd, they made people buy multiple games, and the actually game they're referencing only had tickets on sale for a few hours. All the issues with the Rays have been rehashed over and over and yet they seem to be doubling down by building a new stadium in St Petersburgh.

I was talking to my boss(who is a few years older than me at 58) about playoff baseball and mlb in general yesterday. I have memories of either the 79 or the 81 WS and how I think I remember a game being weekday early in the day and how baseball was such a big deal 40 years ago vs today. My teacher rolled in a stand with a 12” b/w so we could watch it after lunch while in class.
Baseball has fallen so far out of American public consciousness in the last 40 years in general. And yes, Tampa isn’t a great MLB town, the stadium sucks and is hard to get to but yeah… Tuesday at 3pm for a wildcard game just doesn’t move the needle-at all. Yes, the Yankees, Dodgers, Bosox or Cubs is a little better but the reality is that it’s pretty much just us older white guys who are still into it.
