The City Background packs could be worth $200-300 if the names are all Willie Mays level....as a point of comparison, the big names in the comparatively scarce 3D subset in Heritage have been going for $100-150.

So if your City Background pack is something like Mays-Bench-Ripken-Acuna, it could be worth quite a bit.

The thing is, it doesn't exactly take much time....they know the checklist before the product gets printed....how much time does it take to publish it???

Maybe one intern working for 30-40 minutes?

I agree. Which means the truth is that they probably simply don’t care and see no reason to release them. They have probably already sold 90% of the product so it’s now someone else’s problem.

Checklists are vital to breakers, They need them to have time to evaluate spot price and run Presells. It is the only reason we see checklists in advance of release for anything these days. They are not going to waste time on getting a checklist out on anything that breakers aren’t touching.
Breakers will be breaking this product, they have their allocations to work through just like anyone else. Breakers also see checklists early regardless if it’s posted online for the rest of us.

The 1954 topps design was awesome. Chrome version, imo, not so much. These look hideous.

The City variations checklist looks like the same checklist for the Transcendent chrome packs.

Lots of $2-3 autos in that checklist.

100 card checklist, looks tough. It's probably more likely you pull O'Hoppe-Colas-Baty-Ott

it seems that the main reason the 2022 release of this brand was so popular was because of the 4526345702473653 color parallels in every box.

Nevermind the terrible AI look of the cards and new seemingly made up words like TOILE(T), but LOTS OF COLOR IN EVERY BOX!

i wonder if the 2023 release will be any different

First reaction to the checklist is that it's pretty average, with some disappointments...

1) No Yaz, Reggie Jackson, or George Brett content
2) No Nolan Ryan, Griffey Jr, or Rickey Henderson autos

Auto checklist is weak overall in terms of retired player autos, and the City Variations checklist is too big, although it does have pretty much all the big HOF names from the regular checklist in it.

Makes me strongly lean towards building my set via blasters, rather than hobby boxes.

Because you were bound to pull one of those guys if they were in it?

I looked though the checklist, the autos don't look that bad, it's deep/large though, so hitting any individual will be tough. I'm in for a few boxes. I liked the '22 version.

No...because I would buy them as singles....

It's kinda weird to have guys signing in Heritage but not in this....plus, Ryan and Griffey have been signing in just about every Topps product....they're two of the biggest retired names out there still signing.

auto checklist is about what I expected. Lots of very good names and lots of no names. It's going to be hard to hit good autos, but they are there.

Opened 4 boxes. 4 terrible rookie autos. Lots of terrible parallels. It’s a wash

How many parallels per box?

as a Red Sox fan, I've already declared Vaughn Grissom as the new Jeter Downs but it has nothing to do with how many products he's in

Everyone always surprised by these checklists like they aren't pretty uniform across Topps releases lol

The Jim Palmer auto on eBay that I see looks pretty dang sweet if you ask me. It’s an awesome looking card and design. These will be popular for sure.

Feels like they are stuck on the same retired players each year. Is the plan to create continuity?

I'm still waiting for a Dwight Evans platinum anniversary card.
