Topps spends a lot of time reminding us Ichiro played for the Marlins. He spent about the same amount of time playing in NY. I get that NY has a much more historied past and doesn't need to showcase Ichiro. Who knows, maybe now that Miggy's retired they can mix in some Marlins stuff of him and give poor Ichiro a rest. With any luck Topps will make sure it's actually Miguel in the photo this time, although I'm sure the patches will be of some random player (if a player at all).

Making the switch back to sports cards after collecting non-sport cards the last few years. This card has sentimental value, so I was very excited to add it as one of my first additions. My dad pulled this same card out of a blaster when this set released. We are both huge Yankees fans so it meant even more pulling that card. He eventually gave the card to me a few years later. I ended up selling all my sports cards 15-20 years ago, and really wish I would’ve never sold the copy he gave me. I know it’s not the exact same card, but receiving this in today’s mail brought back that memory and was a great feeling!

My big Ohtani pickup came in today. I know it's a niche card, but it's been a card I've wanted for a while, just don't see them pop up in auction a lot.

I just love that it's a swatch not only a game used jersey from Ohtani's rookie season, but from a unique jersey from Players Weekend.

I flipped one of those and the jersey came from on the day of his 14th hr against verlander

With any luck maybe Topps will now scale back the Marlins Ichiro stuff.
