Flawed yes but I don't blame the lcs owner he's trying to make his regulars happy. It's the manufacturers stipulations.
I already understood that, I am saying that every customer should have the opportunity to become a "regular," I understand if you sell only the good stuff and certain clients don't scratch your back on the bad stuff then you won't be able to get the good stuff. I am in the sneaker hobby as well, it works the same, you have buy the crappy team jordans if you're going to get the retro jordans. It's not like you can ONLY order the nice stuff that will sell out, YOU have to order the "INLINE" stuff as well.

It's silly that LCS are complaining about doing bad, when certain LCS that don't backdoor or are first come first serve are doing just fine in certain areas. It's only the struggling LCS stores that seem to resort to operating there store on focusing on just regulars.... Unless it is a prior agreement of a package deal something like season tickets (which everyone has an equal chance at) and having first dibs on playoff tickets, it's really a asinine way to operate a business.

Customer A aka The Regular: Buys all the INLINE stuff and gets first dibs on the more sough after stuff.

Customer B aka The Cherry Picker: Doesn't buy any INLINE stuff and only buys the more sought after stuff.

Customer C aka The New Guy: Would buy the INLINE but coincidentally walked in your store when the good stuff came out, but was donned "The Cherry Picker."

All 3 should have an equal opportunity at purchasing the good stuff, it all levels out, and if some kind of "membership," is going to be implicated then that should be vocalized to all customers. When you make ANY Customer feel as though they are an outsider of some grown up tree house club, it's bad business practice. OP should have been given the same chance as the "regular" to become "a regular." The PROS outweigh the CONS so much if you give new customers a chance, how do these people know when the "regulars" will bounce out of the hobby.

I either order here on blow out or order through the local comic book store. Why? The comic book store could care less about sports cards so it's easy and no stupid crap to deal with.

If I went into a shop that refused to sell me item A they obviously don't need my money so I wouldn't buy anything. There is literally limitless options on how and what to spend your money on and I choose to only deal with places that don't annoy me.

If he was holding it he should have put it away, but you might consider that the reason you walked out is the same reason that guy will come back..
