Artist that surprised me.
Vides. I went into this set w/ vides being on the bottom of the list. Once i received that first card, the munson, had it hand, this changes. His set (as lazy as it was) might be my favorite. Well done.

Palmer, i did not give her a chance when the project started. she was on my list to just ignore. im not a ufc fan at all. While she has like 5 or so cards that were not good, she has at least 2 cards that would make my top 20 (betts, ellis), and most her cards are great. She impressed me and i wish i had been down since day 1.

Biggest disappointments
Action Bronson. No explanation, just total disappointment all the way around. Making stoners look bad.

Distorteed, love her set. Disappointed that she did not finish. Its a bad look. Blake took the time and showed her how to really make money off of this, I guess onlyfans pays better.

Skee, really disappointed the set theme was dropped at the end (im sure its probably topps fault, but still the disappointment is real). Other than that, i don't have much negative to say about him or his set, he made the most of this, wish other artist had been half as motivated. Just would have rather the theme played out.

Not enough Canseco. Project clearly needed more canseco. He is the perfect art card subject, IMO.

I was hoping for a card of him riding a dinosaur with "BIGNESS" on it. Probably better that it didn't happen but his Twitter feed does not disappoint.

Well for P70, I ended up with the full Pardee and Ermsy set. About half of Naturel's, and a couple each from Fucci, Blake, and Efdot.

So it's going to resemble Topps x collaboration in subject matter but have an arbitrary run length like Topps Now. Fanatics appears to be interested in eliminating the margin for resellers from what I've heard. So expect a Pardee base card to cost $50 (or $100 for wander pardee) and a new artist base card of Kent Hrbek to cost $15.

This write up makes me sad.

If Topps turns into stockx I will be bowing out…

I’m also bullish that while long term strategy by new owners of topps apparently includes things like selling graded cards they manufactured, in the short term current products and the people behind them will change much less than some are hypothesizing.

Saw that too. I still wouldn't put it past them to have a stray here and there for the folks that didn't get to 20 cards by the deadline (maybe wishful thinking) but I think the 2-4-6 a day drops are done for sure.

Well of course once the sale is finalized all the leaks dried up. But it appears that Josh Luber is head of Vision Statements or COO or whatever at Fanatics Trading Cards. And he hangs his hat hard on being a founder of stockx (formerly Campless). He worked at IBM before that and is focused on the data of secondary sales of collectibles that resemble securities/commodities.

So the guy that took sneakerheads from unknown to raving lunatic zombie disease starting their own botnets is now Chief Vision Officer of the largest producer of our hobby and it just got bigger after Fanatics put 10x more money into the licenses than anyone before.

So, I can say DO NOT WANT and I can lament but with all the above information I'm a little realistic about where things are heading. And in the interview I linked, if he gets to direct the vision then we know where this ride ends.

If you don't want to hear things, don't ask about them.

Very revealing at the end--she said that "art takes time and she hates being rushed into things".

She definitely put her heart and soul into each of her 15 cards

Her cards look great in hand. I'm still prepared to die on the distortedd hill. Went bricks on all her cards. Original and wild and deconstructive and consistently so. Gonna be one of the best P70 prints. No regrets.

Do people think the exclusive gold-stamped oversized prints will be sent in the order of artists finishing their sets?

I haven't formed a theory there, but I'm hoping they all show up in one of those hard cardboard tubes my kids will get a few hours of enjoyment out of while I try to flatten the prints without cracking the gold leaf stamp/paint.

Ive never looked at Fantatics/stockX stuff -- they hold the card (or shoe)? So they keep the physical product in their possession to be sold to another account holder? Or can you request it be sent to you?

the living set prints are sent flat in a big oversized box. i am assuming the same. i am also assuming that since they send prints that way, they will ship all at once to save shipping cost.
