17 and 18 bowman are not rookie. They are prospect cards i think

Just got this in the mail from a break.

Though the only difference between the non-color refractor and this is the color of Stadium Club logo and numbering on back, here is the Gold refractor #/50 from 2020 Stadium Club Chrome.

I’m assuming you’re referring to the ‘18 Bowman?

It came out before (or least was planned and printed before) it was known that Soto would debut in 2018. That’s why we didn’t see Soto in Topps until Update, and likely why he only made it in Heritage and Archives with those boring dugout photos (presumably because they were rush jobs).

If you’re looking for a Bowman RC card, his Bowman’s Best and still-affordable Bowman Holiday cards are the only options.

I only have like one or two of them but technically his 1st non auto card was 2017 bowman chrome right? Do we think at some point those cards get some recognition as well? We all know if they put the 1st bowman on that card it would be worth thousands in PSA 10.

That’s something that really annoys me about the 1st Bowman cards. Why do some players have 1st BC autos, but then no non-auto card until the following year? Soto, Gleyber, Corey Seager, Bellinger...

And so, with this known tendency, why wouldn’t the first non-auto be more popular? Does the card have to say “1st Bowman Card” to matter? Topps completely omitted 1st Bowman emblems from 2013, and yet that didn’t hold back the Aaron Judge.

Despite being the first non-auto, is the fact that it’s a second-year release (in prospect card terms) disqualifying?

Yeah it is crazy to me how many star level players this happens to also. Wouldn't it be easier to make a non auto card compared to the auto card? How did all of these players get an auto card without getting a non auto card in the same set.
