Topps and Panini won’t even have access to player likenesses so what exactly do you think they’re going to produce? Maybe they can do Garbage Pail Kids style cards spoofing real life players.

I'm still not certain of the schedule for how it's all gonna play out. I guess 2022 will be my last hurrah for sports cards for a few years. I've already moved into gaming cards quite a bit so I guess 2023 and 2024 I'll be all-in on those. And then back in sports cards in 2025 when Fanatics officially enters (unless there's still an angle for licensed NBA and NFL cards in 2023 and 2024).

There's still a lot of time for something to be worked out. Not saying it will but I have a hard time believing there will not at least be a hard push for something licensed for those couple years given how much money is on the line. Going to have to be a play it by ear type thing.

I pulled an Embiid /25 Select and won't get $20 either. Won't even get an offer.

Football Basketball is not done till 2024-25.

Yes, how can I forget about soccer? I am definitely down for soccer and that will help fill any gap as well. Have already got in to that to a degree. Just don't think about it as much as it's not something I typically find at retail in-store. And, I generally don't like plunking down a lot for hobby products.

But, good time to think about soccer with the World Cup coming next year. I'm normally not much of a soccer fan but absolutely LOVE watching the World Cup.

I also do hockey some too but that's a lot less interesting unless there's a superstar rookie to chase and those are unfortunately few and far between.

That's the market. Unfortunately Embiid is also not a hot hobby player. But I can sell a bunch of Michah Parsons prizm draft stuff for around the $20 mark this entire week.

embiid genesis sells for $70-80. checkerboard isn’t really a legit chase card.

I’d imagine fanatics would rent the license out for those couple years if they aren’t gonna start printing until 2025. I doubt they want to let the market go totally cold and have to start back over, especially with how hot it’s gotten. No cards at all is a good way to totally kill off the market you just spent tons of money getting into. And it would leave room for something to maybe grab more of market share in its absence like NFTs and top shot #@#@#@#@. They’ll figure out something i think.

If hobby wax stays stupid expensive retail will keep demand, at least for the desirable chrome products.

PSA not opening up any reasonable service levels is keeping it in check too.

I feel like they haven’t put up any new basketball in forever. Chronicles, Mosaic, and Flux all should be coming soon. Maybe those won’t be up until after the holiday.
