Im just remembering the last true adrenalin rush I had in basketball. It was like 2015 and the Warriors were in the Finals against some other team and the one place to see it in the seaside SE Asian town I was in was the screen on upper floor of semi-outdoors barbecue chicken joint. So I purchased my inasal and rice, and watched it with a couple hundred locals, feeling inordinately proud that my home team had finally stepped up to represent.

[Charania] The Atlanta Hawks have been the strongest suitor for Siakam. Atlanta has offered a package centered around De’Andre Hunter, AJ Griffin and draft compensation to Toronto for Siakam, league sources say.

Several teams have shown interest in pursuing Siakam via trade over the past three months, but the external market has been tempered a bit due to the fact that it’s been made clear, league sources say, that Siakam would not extend with a team that trades for him. Still, the Atlanta Hawks have been the strongest suitor for Siakam, and talks between them and Toronto were fluid and ongoing as recently as Las Vegas Summer League in July.

Atlanta has offered a package centered around De’Andre Hunter, AJ Griffin and draft compensation to Toronto for Siakam, league sources say. But the Raptors are believed to have upped the price on any possible deal at each turn.

Masai is really gonna risk having another star player walk... He has to eventually realize the skills overlap is too great, right? If you want to build around Scottie and OG, then you need a different star to balance the attack - not that Hunter is it, but actually Dame is. Guessing he, like other GMs, doesn't want to be on the hook for Dame's latter years.


Something like this makes every team better though... [save Portland obvi, who doesn't need to be better].



It'd be disappointing if we don't get some sort of big multi-teamer this offseason, considering how most teams seem content running it back and there's only 6-8 teams with pieces that need moving or upgrading.

I actually don’t hate the pickup, low risk all reward, but let’s not throw the “investment” term around

Turns out teams actually have to make the playoffs before they can win rings, so interestingly enough the regular season matters and there's a reasonable limit to how much one can hate and whine about even as regular-season strategies are gamed as never before, it's the latest in moneyball, duh
