I don't know if it's rave worthy but it's certainly growing on me. If P70 taught us anything, it's that nostalgia sells. For many Naruto is that thing. I'm too old for it, but I think it's neat. (just not $20 neat lol)

Naruto doesn't seem to have anything to do with J Rod... that doesn't look like a baseball bat, just a weird short stick... it's just very bad, all around.

Julio number 5. DJ Skee was very polarizing during P70 as well. He does have a following though and this card is at least interesting compared to his previous 2 cards.

Has a shot at the first real sell out of season 3.

Not everything has to have meaning? Maybe "it looks cool" is enough for some people? These are "art cards" after all and not history/biography cards... Of course a nod to something more personal to the player would be even better, but it's not a prerequisite to make these cards... I mean we got a set of players as dinosaurs for ƒ#¢<s sake lol

Not sure what you're arguing against, I didn't say the card shouldn't have been made. I just said that it's bad.

That’s why i didn’t single out that part… My point is that the homage doesn’t have to have a connection to the subject. Particularly if the homage is hugely popular. We’ve see plenty of cards from P70 that were fun because it was nostalgic (and had no particular relation to the subject).

But in this case it’s a moot point.

SZN 3 was supposed to be better than SZN 2 but not as good as SZN 4.

I am not sure they've lived up to that thus far.

For real. If the /299 cards are still replacing base this SZN, some cards are going to have more parallels than base

Kwan will be my first SZN3 purchase. Mostly because of the player/team, but the art is good enough.

Looked at these again, yeah my opinion hasn't changed on how bad they are. I'd be embarrassed to show anyone the dino or Ben Ross cards. I assume once this project wraps up, topps will introduce some new art card project in 2023. They are going to be the last ones who realize art cards are dead
