Yeah I sold one of those sb tickets to him... I think he told me they were supposedly stolen... Horrible news

He has all the mahomes tho... I sold him the nt shield, impeccable dual shield, prizm finite auto, ice 1/25, champ 1/5 & 5/5, sb ticket, stars & stripes.... Man I had a crazy PC going but he had to have them and offered me great prices. He overpaid back then for them especially some on ebay like the NT RPA 1/1 LH patch ($15k) but it was a great investment atleast so far. He prob has 40 nt rpas... Problem is he's holding them all.

I would've sold them all by now and made big money on them personally especially at the rediculous levels they are these days but hey if you can afford to hold a huge investment like that you better off than me... my measily Air Force pay doesn't cover cards so I always gotta sell something in my collection to buy something else

I think mahomes has all the talent but #@#@#@#@ there's far better investments out there than him... Buying a nt rpa for $20k you think you going to just double that? Hell no. And mahomes isn't brady because brady has very few rc autos... Mahomes has what 2000+ 1/1s alone in this over flooded market (just guessing). Now his nt shield may be worth $50k or so but his reg nt rpas selling for what they are.... Shiiiiiit I'd rather buy up brees, rivers, Rodgers, Watson, Wilson, garoppolo, luck, cousins which all are better investments by a MILE based on cost. #@#@#@#@ a Wilson contenders is what $250-$350

Mahomes is overpriced and overvalued.... Just wait until he gets that $40M contract they predict and then he'll be playing with former AAF players around him cause KC can't afford anyone else worth a #@#@#@#@. Then in time his stuff will drop and sell like lucks stuff is now.

If you buying mayfield and mahomes right now you may need to come back down to reality a bit and ask yourself why... It's not like there's a shortage of their #@#@#@#@... Just let it settle and drop like everything does

While it is true he does have more autos than Brady did his high end stuff short printed stuff will always carry a premium like the NT RPAs and Contenders while all the cheap products like Phoenix and XR will come back down to earth.

Isn't the off-season the time to buy? When they start playing again and Kansas City occupy the 1 seed for much of the year with Mahomes killing it there may be another rise.

Yeah I thought it was suspicious too, bidding was unusually high from start with this and thought and seemed really high for that card...

The other orange that went insanely high the other day was paid for. I don't know if it's someone trying to manipulate/corner the market or what. Not sure what's going on there, last 3 sales were $1084, $450 (offer accepted), and $801.

Interesting thread. I've stayed away from football (save for a few 90s refractors and inserts of my hometown Chiefs) since I got back into collecting in 2014.

I must say, on the whole there's a lot of really jaded FB collectors on here. The baseball and Basketball collectors look at Mahomes and see Trout and Giannis. The football collectors see Andrew Luck, Matt Ryan and Derek Carr. There are good arguments on both sides but on the whole I think the bb and Bkb folks are more correct. Both statistically and in the eye test, Mahomes has clearly separated himself from any QB prospect in the last generation. The Carr/Luck/Ryan caution is much more applicable to the Trubiskey, Mayfield and Watson buyers if anything.

Football is always gonna be more of a gamble due to the frequency of catastrophic injuries, but the potential reward is enormous. It's still the #1 sport in the USA. With generational talents the long term trend only goes one way, UP. Amazon and Apple stock always look expensive in the present moment, so do Trout and Giannis. "There's no room to grow, he already has MVPs and championships baked into his prices!" Check Ebay, prices just went up though.
