Now I’m only down .68% in my trading account on the day. Was down 3%+ at one point.

Nice pivoting! I'm still down 2-4% in my accounts, but much better than an hour ago

Ended up selling the 50 CCIV shares an hour and a half later for $42.20/share. A nice $420.82 gain on basically nothing more than a “buy the dip” whim.

What a day, from down -10% overall in the morning to flat by close.

Still think we'll see turbulence near-term, today wasn't the last of it.

This right here, brother. They crushed it.

In full disclosure, I did trim today at $138. At $136 and up it falls out of my screen and becomes slightly overvalued. Although, the risk free rate is higher with the 10 year increasing so you can certainly justify not selling too. I still hold a bunch but I wanted to take some off the table.

DMYD looks like it is dipping 8% premarket... might dip back in what I sold off yesterday if it stays under $19. VGAC also down another 5%. AI back under $120. FRX back under $14. I’ve been playing the swings on all of those the last 3 months and could see getting back into or adding all of them.

I will also look for a big name to buy on the dip. Typically when market is down overall I put money into MSFT or V.
Yeah I generally like sticking with the big boys when markets head south, been adding to stuff like appl, msft , goog on the down days as well as all the ARK etfs. I remember back in 2008-2010 when we all got hammered by the financial crisis and people thought I was an idiot because I kept pouring money into the market, they said I’d lose my money and told me to pull my money out. Who’s the idiot now?

Panic is never a strategy, so you run the right thing. You have to admit though, Incredibly easy to say in retrospect though.

What you describe is what the pros call the "flight to safety".buy what you know will be there on the other dude if the market takes a steamer.

At the time of the housing crisis I was listening to an investment talk show and the host kept mentioning not to panic especially if I had at least 10-15 years before retirement. I was more of a mutual fund investor and only had a handful of stocks, mostly big tech. Pretty much every down day in the market I just chipped away here and there, small amounts into the funds. Back then the fees for buying stocks wasn’t worth it if I was buying a few here and there so it made more sense to buy funds.

Looking for real value right now. I am also taking my 2021 brokerage gains and making an ira contribution. Then I am taking some money off the table. My average this year is unsustainable and after having been out of work for three months and returning last month, the additional money wouldn’t hurt.

Premarket makes it look like today should be a good day. Everything I added yesterday is up at least. Debating on whether or not to dip back into CCIV. Will see how green I am today which will shape my risk tolerance.

Ended up buying back into CCIV ... 50 shares at $34.92. I will likely pick up more shares of KO at some point today too.

I’ve added DMYD on the dip... also picked up 10 more shares of CCIV as it dipped a bit further.
