The dude is built for it and has quite the approach to it...he never got gassed like the others.

2022..we need the big guns out there to give him a challenge...Judge, Stanton, Vlady Jr. (I have no idea why he didn't take part in it this year)

Grabbed an aoki /99 for $10 after rewards points. Normally I redeem these on white Sox cards, but it’s a cheap bet this ends up worth more.

dude was automatic. best i can recall a guy being that dialed in was Josh Hamilton back in 2008, but there was no clock then... and he beat his 1st round record!

Since Vlad is a current signer, should get some MVP auto action tomorrow. Too bad Topps did the father/son duo auto earlier. Would be nice to do one tomorrow for Vlad Sr. AS HR.

They could do it again.

I'm in a mixed feeling of hoping Topps to somehow make an Ohtani auto vs. not.
He was the winning pitcher, and starting as pitcher and DH was first time ever, so that may have been a good enough reason for auto already too.

Hey guys. First time posting on these forums. I just started collecting cards again as my second hobby. I collected cards years ago when I was a kid and wish I knew where all those cards are now. Storage or someplace I guess. BTW my first hobby and current business is Arcade game collecting and part manufacturing. In my previous profession I owned several restaurants.

Anyways Topps NOW cards are probably my favorite cards to collect currently. I do like ripping packs but there are so many different series and product ranges available that its hard to keep up. I like knowing what I'm buying and I like the fact the print runs are less than any run of a retail product (in most cases).

Reading the last several pages it seems most people here mainly collect the autos and relics from Topps NOW. I personally like to shoot for the parallels of the base cards. And that's what brought me here. I looked for a place to discuss Topps NOW and this looked mostly like the only place in town.

How many parallel cards is the most anyone here has gotten in one order date? I received my order from June 20 a few days ago. That day they had a 9-card bundle and I ordered one bundle. Of the 9 cards I received 5 of them were parallels. I was blown away.

The parallels I received were:

Francisco Lindor /5
Cedric Mullins /10
Rhys Hoskins /10
Adam Duvall /49
Walker Buehler /49

Another player making some headlines during his first All-Star Game was Toronto Blue Jays first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Famously following in the footsteps of his Hall-of-Fame father, who made nine appearances in the midsummer classic, Vlad Jr. doubled the American League lead in the top of the third inning with a solo blast deep into the outfield grandstands off Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Corbin Burnes. This homer was the 200th overall in All-Star Game history and the longest ever in the statcast era. Another RBI in the fifth inning propelled Guerrero Jr. to top choice for MVP voting, ultimately becoming the youngest winner in All-Star Game history.

I'm assuming $450-500 for the /99.
His Project 70 auto was $400, so I think that's his basic price now, and with relic added, Topps will probably place another $50-100 on top.

Wouldn't be surprised if they go $600, but I think they'll be hesitant to place the cheapest option that high.

I have noticed that the relics (and auto-relics) are almost always a shocking price to me. Then again, it is the all star game. I agree on the $399 price TBH. I don't think we've seen a /99 card at that price, have we?

Yeah, kind of expected these numbers. My son is a big Angels/Ohtani fan this year but I'll probably pass.

Since we're all doing it anyway:
My guess is topps absolutely gouges their customers here (like they did with the wander debut relic auto) and tests our wallets with $599 for the /99.
I think $499 is more likely and a bit more conservative, not sure topps does us that favor as I doubt they would have any trouble selling out ohtani autos rn, regardless of price.

$600 seems pretty steep to me when you can buy a signed 8x10 from topps for $350. I mean that hasn't sold out ...

I will say that being older than many here I just can’t justify sticker autos. Give me a nice on-card auto and I feel that little connection to the signer.
