Does anyone know why Shohei wears #16 in Japan and #17 on the Angels?
According to Baseball Reference, 6 Angels have worn #16 since 2018.

He was #11 before in Japan on the Fighters (Darvish's old team and number) and #16 on the national team. #11 was retired on the Angels and #27 was taken by Trout so he went with #17 in US.

Funny that nobody's mentioned that he crushed TWO 3 run HR's against the Hanshin Tigers during the WBC Exhibition game earlier today.

When I posted the twitter link, there wasn't an ESPN article about the game. I was scrolling twitter, saw Ohtani, posted what I could get. Saw different angles of both of those jacks later. Amazing stuff.
