Do you have multiple accounts with Target?

I have one account and my gf has one account. We live together so shipping and billing addresses are the same on both.

I have always been able to order my limit of a product on both accounts, from the same device, within minutes or less of each other. I've never had an order cancelled and that didn't change today.

Ok, the way you worded your post I thought you had placed two separate orders of the same product on your account and Target doesn't cancel your second order

They changed security to prevent the auto-log in and purchase script bots were using when it was time to purchase (the cookie method he's referring to), so bots got stuck in a loop. Manual didn't win due to addresses, it won due to the increased security Target did during this step of the botting process.

Bots will be tweaked, but this is good to see from Target.

Good to see Target doing something to combat the bots. I am clueless when it comes to that stuff so I’ll never be able to understand or explain exactly what they did and why it worked, but it’s pretty clear they did something that worked today. I missed the initial cello drop by at least 10 minutes and still got some (it actually looks like they’re still available now), and blasters were super easy to get as well and didn’t sell out for over an hour. Where are all the people that used to come in here and say with absolute certainty that Target will never do anything to deter the bots?

All they did was add additional step to add to cart. Many bots were unequipped to handle this. It’s easy fix for devs. Shape has been on their radar for quite some time n

Here is what I don't get. Let's say Target stopped the bots. Product is still available right now. If the objective of the bot user is to accumulate product for resale, why wouldn't they be scooping as much as they can manually as an alternative. It's still there to be had. Something isn't adding up.

I think your partly right. Cellos are worthless on the resell market and they're only doing 3 cellos per transaction. Blasters hold very little profit.

I believe Target did do something as it sounds. I also think many bots have left the weak margins behind. Which I think a lot of us are happy about.

Margins are gone so most have likely moved onto the next hot thing and it totally sucks that we have to live with these inflated prices for the foreseeable future.

What's funny is there is no next hot thing. Consoles are dead, cards are dead, GPUs not great either, maybe they are back to sneakers? But even sneakers don't have great margins and are extremely hard to hit if there is big money in them.

They may be really contemplating getting a job with Amazon at $20/hr to put PS5s in boxes or deliver food for DoorDash.

It's become a catch 22 situation for me..it's cool the bots are leaving this alone..but at these prices so am I. I'm not paying 30 bucks for a mosaic blaster..if they were 20 though..you'd basically have no chance and bots would get it all.

If it's true that the bots wanted Mosaic and struck out then why did the only product with resale value still sell out quick? The Pokemon Celebrations Premium box was gone in a few minutes.

It wasn't answered but the reason the Mosaic on walmart.com sold out quick to bots is because everyone knows now virtually every retail product with any resale value starts out high and tanks. So the first week it was worth it to the bots and now it's not.

Can't believe there are not a ton of complaints about Topps Chrome Update boxes. Talk about highway robbery. $50 wow. The highest retail increase for anything. The sad thing is at no point last year did bots want these that I can remember. If Fanatics is to blame for the increase, highly unlikely as it's too close to the deal happening, we are in for a rude awakening on baseball products going forward.

Also remember on Walmart you were able to order a QTY of 12, and place multiple orders without being cancelled. At least for the first two initial drops.

Most big bot users have made retirement money the last 20 months. I saw a bot showing a picture of his new Ferrari on facebook yesterday. Not joking. Think he's going back to work for $20 an hour? The bots who had access to all the PS5 drops even only getting a handful on each drop for over a year probably made six figures on just the PS5 alone. There were some bots getting more PS5s than you could count on single drops when both digital and disc were selling for around $1000.

I know some are flipping NFT's I hear about the "profit" but no idea what he's buying or where he's buying it from, I'm just too old to care.

Is it really retirement money when you make a few hundred k or even a million but blow a big chunk of that on a Ferrari those are the types of guys that will be filing for bankruptcy within a few years. That reminds me of all the college kids that became poker pros in the mid 2000's, that didn't turn out well for most of them.

Fanatics hasn't even closed the deal on topps lol it was announced they were purchasing them but the deal certainly isn't done. this is the year long price hike that topps has been doing on all their products.
