there was a lot of early panic regarding Luka and the
Mavs. Relax Luka will be just fine.

Same. After starting with the 4 TOs he's figured out how to beat them. Took about 10 minutes. That's not to say the Mavs will win, but they won't be suffocating him anymore.

I'm noticing in a lot of games, wanted to post this last game, that there seems to be some "animosity" against Luka. Melo played physical last time they played, the Lakers defenders, obviously the Clipper will. Westbrook made it a point to be super physical. Seems planned.

I'm sure the inner circle of NBA stars have had some conversations about showing 'the Euro kid what playoff basketball in the NBA is like' - just like MJ and the dream team did against Kukoc back in the day.

He's not taking the bait. He's just smarter than them and is typically the smartest guy on the court (at least when he's not playing LeBron).

Agreed, Bev being a “hard-nosed defender” doesn’t excuse what he did. He could have injured his elbow with that force.

He gets frustrated when he gets hammered and doesn’t get his fair share of calls. I’d game plan the same way against him too. Only thing is that you have to stay restrained. Surprised to see a veteran team get sloppy like this. 11 fouls in less than 17 minutes and three for PB already.

I think this happens early with a lot of the greats. With Jordan there were the "jordan rules", then with Lebron he had the celtics that would bully him like crazy. I think with young, potentially transcendent players, the established guys try hard to put them in their place. So far he is actually doing well and its a good sign.

I also think Luka is getting a reputation for being a complainer. With refs "letting them play" its probably not a bad idea to play him hard and let him spend a lot of time talking to refs instead of playing the game.
