Once again,If they win a playoff series I will pay up and enjoy the ALCS with Trout in it with a fellow member from here.I hope they do win so I can be entertained during ALCS and possibly root for Trout.

I know you want to make a blanket statement to prove a point. And there is a point to be made. Individual success only goes so far in baseball. But you can't really compare old playoff players (there was none..) to new playoff players. Mays, too. He won 2 MVP's. 1 they swept the WS with a 97 win team. The other, they won 95 games (in a season with 2 less games), and missed the playoffs. Multiple other Top 5 MVP years on good teams with no playoff appearance (aka WS appearance). Willie was 39 by the time the NLCS came around. Ted Williams was 51.

That's why I stated that it's fascinating that baseball is only sport where you can be great without winning and followed up with Trout will be one of the greatest of all time when he is done but I still don't believe Angels will win a Playoff Series this year and that statement has seemed to upset some people who may or may not have invested in Trout.
Regardless,If they win the ALDS this thread will blow up with me forking up few bucks and a shiny card.

so you are of the believe that anyone that owns his cards, is "invested"?

You didn’t say “this year”, you said “anytime soon”. Two to three years is “anytime soon”. Mike Trout is only 28 years old. Some players finally reach the MLB level at 25 and 26 years old. The Angels can still turn it around this year or next year. To make such a bold statement of “anytime soon” was childish. This is baseball. Teams sometimes turn things around quickly. Again, you come off like a “know it all”. Why?

You clearly want this to go on. “May or may not have invested” is what I said.
You claimed they didn’t pitch to him but they did and he went 1-12 and you have not replied to that comment and you picked ‘invested’ comment out of everything.

Trout has had eight full seasons and has been the best player in baseball for probably six out of those eight seasons. He did not win any playoff game during that time let alone a playoff series, In his lone appearance he went 1-12.
Looking at current angels pitchers I highly doubt that they will win the ALDS this year let alone get there.Once again I never debated or doubted his greatness during regular season since he is the best player in baseball but until he wins a playoff series I'll continue to have my doubts that he is great in the playoffs.

Mike Trout was 22 years old in his only playoff appearance in 2014. 22 years old!? You don’t think he had butterflies in his stomach at 22? The playoff vibes are completely different than the regular season. Again, most MLB players were still in AAA at 22 years old. Why bring up his 1-12 playoff performance? To judge Mike Trout because of his lone playoff appearance at 22 years old is pathetic.. plain & simple.

But like Eric said.. I’ll let it go. I’m done. Goodnight!

Juan Soto says Hello.
Listen dude,I'm not hating on Trout at all and I think it's funny how you guys are defending him when I continue to say he is great.
So, I'll continue to have my own judgement like you two have as well and if Trout goes to the ALCS I'll invite both of you - Thosebackpages - Reggie along with other member to ALCS.

Gotta love the trout thread every excuse in the world why trout doesn't win. Maybe it's because he takes off the end of every season for being soft. Guys not a winner can't teach that. You either have that killer instinct or you don't and trust me he don't.

What took you so long to get here, Pete!? You can usually sniff out Trout dissidents within seconds!

Haha. No hard feelings! I’d love to personally watch Trout in the ALCS, if it happens.

I apologize if I came off a little harsh.

Have a good night!

Don't follow this lousy thread much. It's like following an Orioles thread. But figured I'd check in same old excuses I remember here.
