Joe, just an fyi there is a vintage stock on eBay right now for bid. Opening bid was 99.99 and it has been bid on. That should help you gauge if you got a deal or not.

My guess is it will go closer to $400.

So far I've compiled a pretty solid Yordan Collection with only purchasing 1 (rest were hit in my 2 case break and a 3 case jumbo break from a million card rip breaker)

2020 Topps Black #/69 x2 Hit one in personal case and one in MCRP break
2020 Topps Gold Foil- Hit in personal case
2020 Topps Rainbow Foil- Hit in personal case
2020 Topps Purple Meijer- Purchased on BO boards

should also have about 20 base after some sales

I've pulled five (mostly worthless) and condition has actually been a problem.

Haha I just commented on this in the Series 1 thread. It is worrisome for the hobby if a vintage stock of the top rookie gets only about 3 boxes ($70/box at my hobby shop). Not many better cards to hit.

The vintage stock seems to be the least desired of the parallels, blue, pink, black, etc are all much more popular. Even though I kinda like them... they are almost always tough to get a decent grade on though due to the paper stock.

I had an Acuna from 2018 Update graded PSA 9, that I had bought for about $200 last summer. Just sold it for $750 the other day. I also just bought a Tatis Jr from Series 2 last year and paid $225 for it... and when I bought a Gleyber 2018 update I paid $45... they just don’t go for that much unless maybe they get a Gem 10.

I would much rather have a vintage than the mother's day or Father's Day. The black and Indy are the only 2 I'd put ahead of the vintage (save the platinum) and in 2020 even the black and indys aren't that nice.

2018 parallels were so nice I think I've been ruined for any year since lol

This is a good analysis. They are tough grades and today the hobby is all about grading so they get passed over. Maybe that will change down the road.

The one that just ended at $233 was mine. I thought it would go a little higher but I can’t complain. Whoever won it has a chance at a PSA 10. I was on the fence about sending it in but figured I could get a good return now. Only time will tell if I made a mistake or not.

That's still a good number for a VS RC IMO.
If we look back to 2019/18/17
Id guess very few s1/s2 Vintage Stock parallels have sold higher within a month of release.
As stated above Tatis was a $200 card it sounds like. What about from s1/s2 in 2018- maybe Ohtani was higher but I think he was probably the only one. In 2017 probably Judge and no one else.
18 Update and 2019 parallels have raised expectation in a big way for these cards.

Just to compare I bought a VS Jack Flaherty a few weeks back for around $35. I know, I know he's a pitcher. Looking at recent VS RC sale prices of guys from the last fewyears:
2017-
Judge s1 -$120 (psa 9)
Bellinger update- $100-$120(multiple sales)
Moncada s1=$45
J Bell-$26
Glasnow $15

2018-
Ohtani update-(BGS 9.5)$150
Devers s1(psa8)-$84
Albies s1 $61
Meadows update-$35
Buelher s1 $38
Flaherty s1-$36

I think $181 Yordan Alvarez is still pretty high IMO.
We just have to take Juan, Ron, Vlad and Tatis out of this equation.
Alvarez is not those guys level(yet)
