Coming from the world of basketball, where Prizm parallels are king, and there is a somewhat clear hierarchy of most sought after established parallels (Black 1/1, Gold, Mojo, Orange, Blue Ice, IMO). The football parallel market seems to just be coming into shape. Some collectors don't yet even know about Gold Vinyls, and until you have one in hand, you won't truly appreciated them. There's a good reason I paid up to get 2 of these.

The black label was set to go to auction in error. The owner noticed and called it off. An xrc bgs 10 gold label went for 12k a few weeks back. Do you still think the black label would get 18-20k? I don’t know much about how much bgs 10’s (gold or black label) affect value. Is there a formula? I believe at the time the bgs 10 gold label sold for 12k the average sale price of a psa 10 was 6k.

Min 2x a bgs 10... Ive seen 3-4X on some cards, ESP POP 2, of a high demand rare rookie of a SUPERSTAR. Youll have a lot of people fighting over it in auction thats for sure!

If i could have 2 bgs 10 or 1 black label not even close, taking the black... esp pop 2...

Even if someone offered me 3, id have to seriously think about it because black label is holy grail of holy grails...

Acuna Chrome auto was 4k for a BGS 10 his rookie year, almost bought but was 70th anniversary.... just looked one just sold in auction for $30,000.

The black labels do of SUPERSTARS if right card...and low pop. But let others chime in, just from what i remember, etc.

I feel its like the opposite becomes so sought after because you cant buy one even if you wanted to. For the low pops like yours

I have the bgs 10 gold label tie dye xrc, but i bought it for a relatively low price. Its definitely nicer than the vast majority of psa 10s i own, but mostly because of centering. It’s really hard to find the xrc with perfect centering.

There is no formula or multiplier for black label imo. I have seen them selling for anywhere between 2-5X BGS 10. It all depends on what someone is willing to pay for. Not exactly an apples-to-apples comparison, Lebron 2003 TC Black Label (pop of 11) sold recently for $57K. That shows the future potential of Mahomes XRC Black Label whose pop is only 2.

Beautiful cards! Tough to say if Contenders Optic Red/75 gem mint value will outpace vertical contenders (print run ~212) PSA 9. Both are very desirable and should appreciate well in the future imo (depending on Patty's performance) It might because people pay premium for gem mint copies.

Mahomes' fellas - Purchased an Optic Auto a few weeks back. When I received the card, it had surface marks up and down the front of the card. The seller downplayed the surface issues in his description and said that he couldn't even get a picture of it. This is straight from the listing.

"The only slight flaw I can see is there are a few factory wax marks on the surface. Maybe I shouldn't even call it a flaw as I don't have any experience with graded cards. I tried to carefully wipe off but I think they are printed in the card. In fact, I couldn't even get a picture because it's hard to see."

My picture back to him, that took me two seconds to take.



I decided to return the item as I felt his description was misleading. Not looking for Gem Mint cards obviously, but that was easy to photograph and should have been included in the listing. I certainly would have included it if I were trying to sell it.

Anyways, the item is back up for sale, still without a full disclosure (though he did add another picture that doesn't nearly show what mine does), and I am still without a refund. eBay allows a few days, but I think it is low that he already has it relisted. Maybe that's just me, I've returned one other card in the past year and was refunded immediately.

Man, that’s a tough call. I’ve owned a couple optic contenders and a couple “regular” contenders. I feel like 2017 contenders is such a great design. One of the best contenders designs ever, if not the best imo. I feel like the 2017 optic contenders loses some of the great formal qualities in its chrome format. The overall image feels less punctuated and more homogenized. Pretty sure your red optic contenders would grade at a psa 9 if crossed over. The optic has the team color and is more limited, and numbered, but I think tradition and aesthetics will win out and the regular contenders will be more valuable. Also, in light of all the trimming of regular contenders, I think many would feel far better about a psa 9 than they would with most releases. I’m putting my money on the regular contenders. Just my opinion.

Just got this in the mail. I bought this back from the guy i sold it too for 5x what i sold it for. This pic is from last year when i owned it the first time. Already posted this in the showoff thread, but i figured some of you might enjoy it. It’s a pop 6, but i know for a fact that at least 2 Knights Templars (the non refractive kind) are in Shining Armor psa 10 slabs. So this is a pop 4 max. I know it’s not a monster card, but it is one of the most beautiful cards i’ve seen. The refractive qualities of foil when not covered in plastic are amazing. All that being said,
i probably paid more than it would demand in the current market.

I keep looking for a perfectly centered psa 10 xrc, but can’t find one. The closest to perfect centering up on ebay now is the one currently .at 6,377, but it’s still just slightly off. It is a left heavy card.

Yeah, and there arent likely to be any more. 2 is probably it. I know the guy who owns it. He also owns the prizm black finite. Super nice and helpful dude.

I don't know. If premiums are that crazy, I could see a lot of people trying to cross PSA 10's
