The pleasant surprise of spring award has to go to Josiah Gray. Gave up just one run in over 16IP with a sub 1 whip. Our resident Gray collector here has got to be beaming about now. I splurged $7.50 +s/h on this one the other day

That is an immaculate Gray...especially for the price. Well done! What would an equivalent Greene or Lodolo fetch? 5-10x?

I'm obviously elated over Gray's spring, but remain grounded given his lack of projected run support.

Having said that, I am thiiis close to starting a JGray thread. Anyone else optimistic?

Very optimistic. It's the long game for pitchers, though, so I just hope he's able to stay positive this year and that the Nats' new owner spends on free agents next year.

I’d say wait for him to have some regular-season success first. Verlander, Scherzer, and Kershaw don’t even carry their own threads, which is why I started this thread in the first place.

Young pitchers can carry a thread for a while off the initial excitement, but we probably need to see some an all-star-level pitching from J-Gray before he can break away from the band.

Just wanna point out that red refactors land one in every 1785 packs in the sea of 2022 TCU. That’s 1 red refractor every 7.4 cases. 200 card checklist so the HG red refractor/25 emerges on average in every
357,000 packs or almost 1:1500 CASES.
She’s a beaut and I wouldn’t sell it for anywhere less than $200.
