Agreed. I don't think MA needs a yearly (or even every-other-year) release. Hoping maybe by 2018, I can be working on more martians though!

If there's another Mars Attacks set, sign me up. I loved working on it.

So if you are a collector, what would you do if you pulled this (or something like it)?
Don't mean to be a buzkill but I don't like this card. I wouldn't buy it for $50. Call me crazy but this card has gone too far off track. Compared to the rest of his "sketches" from the Heritage set, this one is not good. Yes the rendition was nice, but not for me... As for keeping the best pulls, it is a must! If this card is your favorite, DONT SELL IT. I was lucky enough to score a fantastic lineup in my sketch fatpack, that I kept my 2 favorite (including a Santa-Maria) bought one for $125, and still paid for my entire order by selling a few sketches from the pack. I am working on posting my MARS ATTACKS OCCUPATION pulls. I bought 1 sketch fatpack, 4 Judge dredd crossover packs, and 1 dinosaur hot pack.

Here's some recent APs for fellow BO members. Those were my last three MA:I blanks also.

Curious what your issue is with this card? The subject? Style?

@JRCrosby: Nice triptych!!

@dd316: Did not like that one either. At first and second look, I did not associate that sketch card with Mars Attacks. It's clever and beautiful, but it just did not "click" with me.

I guess I don't follow and am not familiar with classic war paintings. I like the idea of using acrylic paints though. Loved his 10 done for the IDW Limited run. His sketch of Aliens attacking on the beach is ideal! I think it would've hit home better if I could see one of their faces at least. I just like a good old fashion "realistic" looking Martian wreaking havoc! A nice mugshot is a must for me. Ted I really enjoyed your work on the sets as well! Abbey Road, Last supper, album covers covers.....TOP NOTCH some of my all time favs. Just one man's opinion

Default Hall card and questions

Here is a Hall Green MA Occupation sketch that I think everyone will like; acrylic on card. Jeff Allender's lists are great and I intend to share my checklist info as I have in the past. A little help:

MA Occupation:
Creator Artist auto cards
A1 Alex Horley
A2 Adam Levine
A3 ?
A4 Lars Grant West
A5 Kieran Yanner
A6 ?
A7 Eric Wilkerson
A8 ?
A9 Bob Larkin
A10 Dan Brerton
A11?

I know Jason Crosby and Jeremy McHugh are there but not their numbers

Dino Sketches not on published list; Matt Frank. Any others?

Dredd Sketches. There is an official list of 12 artists, (not everyone got blanks), but I have 15.
Maus, West,Chalker, Crosby,Pepe Kadar,Labas,Camera,Giles,Jimenez,Maheras,Meeks,McRea,Bowling.
Anyone else?

Please only personal verifiable info. Thanks!!
Might get my pledge on Thursday!!!!

To be technical, Charles Hall uses oils not acrylics, but I get what you guys mean.

Default checklist

Thanks Scorcher! That checklist isn't complete, I just emailed Jeff with some additions. On this one, I think its up to the community to put an accurate checklist together.

Some folks like to see process pics so I thought I'd share. I try to post these to my art thread too so head there to see more.

Here are four pics detailed the process from initial pencils to final color on my latest 3-card puzzle.

Haven't seen much of any of the cards I did pop up. I did Red, Green, Vintage and some Duals.

Anywho, I did some of these Mars Attacks cards in the style of Mario game boxes and also a Legend of Zelda game boxes.

Yeah, I sent my card breakdown to him, but forgot to include my APs, which I just started working on this past weekend. So my contribution numbers will be slightly higher.

THANKS RUSS! It's always fun to show off the process of my work. When someone commissions me, I always include the newsprint pencil sketches too. Seems that makes the piece a little more special seeing how it evolved from thumbnails to final

I'm just starting to noodle around with my AP blanks right now for this set.

I actually like it better when I draw, say, 106 cards, and then cherry pick the six I like best for my APs. The reason for that is simple: I never know how a thumbnail sketch will translate to an actual card. Sometimes I'm satisfied how they turn out; sometimes I with I could tear a few up and do them over. Unfortunately, for sketch cards it doesn't work that way.

In addition, when I get the blanks after the fact, I may have already used my best ideas. Also, I may have to struggle to get back into my " drawing groove" for that series -- if that makes sense. For me, sometimes drawing is like bowling -- I may need a practice turn or two before I feel comfortable.

Artists on our initial sketch list that did NOT end up contributing:

Gary Kezele
Katie Cook
Nina Edlund
Chris Hamer
Sucklord
Nathaniel Hamel
Geoffrey Blasimon
Jim Kyle
Carlos Valenzuela
Mark Finneral

Chad McCown did only loose pencil sketches that we opted not to pack in, but we did provide one to each of the master pledgers for completedness.

I didnt receive one I think that was scratched, I know there were questions posted refrencing the black and whites recently but I dont remember any conformation to it. I remember that it was mentioned that master pledgers were going to receive one but I dont think it happened.

The real shame is that Katie Cook's were LOST IN THE MAIL!

As I'm told, UPS opened in investigation, but nothing came of it (last I heard).

Chris Hamer's, same thing. The others had to drop out for a variety of reasons.

As for B&W sketches, that was something I talked about when I was still at Topps, but i guess it was one of those "we want to do this" type of things that fell through the cracks after I left.

By the way -- a belated thanks for starting the ball rolling on this set. It turned out to be pretty terrific in my opinion.
