It was actually Luger, Savage and Sting that the NWO challenged first. It was at the Bash at the Beach, it was supposed to be a 3 on 3 but the NWO had a "mystery" 3rd partner so they were outnumbered 3 - 2 for a while but Sting stingered splashed in the corner and was "knocked out" until Hogan came out later to save the day just to turn on WCW. Good times! That was the best time to be a wrestling fan with a GREAT product in WCW and WWF for years.

This was a huge find for me because the first wrestling event I ever attended was when my dad and I went to see a WWF show in Philly where Hogan fought earthquake in a stretcher match in the main event.

That's pretty cool. Tenta always seemed like a pretty good dude. Cancer sucks.

awesome

still remember watching that as a kid where he squashed Hogan on the Brother Love show...

give Hogan hell all you want, but he sold that like no other

such a shame his career devolved into such characters as "Shark" in the Dungeon of Doom...and "Golga" of the Oddities...

Actually, i read that he was only made into Golga because he had lost so much weight, that no one would buy him as Earthquake any longer. Still, great career. Awesome heel.

he was a star . the wwe product would have been just fine without him . there was no need to bring him back ...

Smackdown was fun last night. Alot of the same old crap but fun. The ascension is still a joke.

My Dream Wrestlemania card is...

Daniel Bryan (Wins Rumble) vs Brock for the World Title

John Cena vs HHH - If Cena wins then his friends are re-hired if HHH wins then Cena has to join the authority

Sting Vs Taker

Ambrose vs Rollins vs Reigns triple threat

I agree with all of this except:
HHH VS The Rock would be better.
Cena can wrestle some random person considering we know Cena will win no matter what. Maybe Cena VS Hogan lol. I know Hogan is old but Cena matches are the same old thing. Maybe Cena VS Orton.

I don't think a HHH vs Cena match would be bad for the card (my be a bad match tho lol) except for the stipulation. No way WWE can keep Zigs, Ryback and Rowan off TV for another 3 months.

Once it's completely obvious NXT is more over than the main roster Vince will kill it somehow, someway.

Surprised they are taking those guys off for more than 1 week. Ratings are down and the product is awful. They really don't have the luxury to do this, but nothing WWE does makes sense.

Randy Orton vs Brock Lesnar (WWE Championship)

HHH vs Batista (Batista's last match)

Undertaker vs Sting

Seth Rollins vs Roman Reigns vs Dean Ambrose

Daniel Bryan vs Rusev

John Cena vs Dolph Ziggler (Dolph as the heel)

That's what I WANT the card to look like for 31, but I doubt it's even close.

i dont actually keep up with NXT other than reading the occasional review on websites...

but did they already rush a Steen/Zayn match/feud??

not saying thats a bad thing, as they have so much history together from ROH/indies, but if so i think its a bit too early imo

HHH has only been in 21 matches since his match against Sheamus at WM in 2010.

They didn't rush it. It was perfect. Steens attack made it a perfect extension to their ROH feuds. NXT is just teasing us at this point. Itami's GTS setup, Owens Zayn, Blue Pants rise to greatness. IT's perfect right now.

What I am worried about is Vince's plans for these guys. It's rumored that Neville is going to be called up soon with a "Mighty Mouse" gimmick. He even wants him to wear mouse ears. If that is the case Vince is going to screw over all of these guys careers and we'll never see them reach full potential until HHH takes over.

With so many younger talents to potentially put over via a Mania match, do you really think HHH would waste his time putting over Batista, out of the blue?
I ask out of curiosity, because Batista has been off the wrestling radar, as of late, and other opponents such as Reigns, Ziggler, Cesaro, Rollins, etc would seem like a better matchup, in terms of Hunter putting someone over.

I think Flair is the next worst choice - he's almost as egotistical as Hogan and wouldn't add anything.

I'd also agree that Nash / Hall aren't good choices - but I think they would be better than Flair / Hogan. But that portion of Savage in NWO was pretty short lived - 2 years maybe max off the top of my head.

I think the issue is that Savage's career was so expansive from late 70s through early 2000s (early early 2000s) that no one person was with him the entire time. Lanny would have the most knowledge of his career - but I skipped over that it should be Lanny that should accept the induction.

These are what I remember most being with Savage outside of the MegaPowers run and Liz. I think it would go in order like this now:
  1. Mean Gene
  2. Ventura
  3. McMahon
  4. Steamboat
  5. George Steele
  6. Lawler
  7. Flair
  8. Hogan

At least give me some credit for the line... You guys should get your resumes ready and I'll just feed you the lines....

needy much...don't act like you made some giant secret not a secret anymore....
