Looking at cards and thinking about the evolution of the game, as well as its hobby is a lot of fun. Today's share represents all five of the Admiral's Electric Court Gold parallels from 1995-96 Upper Deck. The holofoil details that these cards sport versus their base and even basic Electric Court versions, are stunning. The last card (#349) was photographed twice with different holofoil reactions in order to present a nice rectangular collection of the photos:

Amazing captures, beautiful display of colors here.

Yeah I was lurking on here for years before I started posting but eventually figured I would make an effort to pitch in my 2 cents as well, a forum is only as good as what its members make it.

Electric court golds are one of my favourite parallels, underrated considering how big the set is making for tough odds to pull a particular player.

Truer words have not been spoken here! I also agree on the Electric Court Gold parallels being very nice (a lot of great action shot photographs that get the upgraded holofoil treatments) and underrated. Some of them can prove almost impossible to find. That Jordan is a beaut!

Today's share comes from a one-and-done experiment from Upper Deck called Hologrfx. The effects on these cards is pretty neat, and I'm not sure I can think of any other cards that really look like these. Here are the base and the AUsome (gold) side by side:

One of the earliest NBA autograph sets.

I'm only missing the Walton to complete the set, but I'm not really trying to complete it.

The Mikan, Frazier, Jones, Monroe, Gervin, and Reed are their first NBA autograph cards.

I love buyback autos, and the photograph on that Dice is awesome! Here's one of mine with a great action shot as well, although the card doesn't lend itself to an autograph quite as well due to the dark background:

That is an awesome Robinson. The Mcdyess is actually not a Buy Back, it was pack inserted. Here is a pic from an old Beckett.

Thank you for the correction, I learn something new every day! From looking at COMC, it looks like the other picture you shared is the actual card back, where I would have guessed that was a separate "authentication" card inserted into the same pack. Interesting!

Yes, it is the actual card back, seems weird since the card looks just like the base from the set. They were easily mistaken for base since pictures are a bit dark and the auto can be overlooked at first glance. I still love buy backs, have a few in the auto pc.

The only other two buybacks that I have from the 90s:

2013-14 SP Authentic Buyback Signatures 1996-97 SP Authentic No. 102 by peaceful_garden, on Flickr

And this one, where I really wish they hadn't bought back a miscut copy of the card! It's still a special one though, as I actually pulled the regular version of this card back in 1997 when the E-X2000 product was current, and which is still in my collection today.

That Net Assets buyback is sweet, didn't know that existed! And 95-96 SP is easily one of my favorite base sets of all time. That or 1997 SPx, gotta be my two favorite, period. I know I'm violating the rules here by posting a second picture today, but I do have one other 95-96 SP buyback auto....

Loving the 90s buyback mania in here, punctuated with that Bulls dude that some think was pretty decent. I also love the 95-96 SPA cards in general, and hope to add Admiral’s buyback from that year eventually.

Haha much appreciated. It's by FAR the best card in my collection, both as my personal favorite and from a value standpoint. I don't have any other card that would come even close to 4 figures. I was fortunate to grab a modern MJ auto (/25 with a GU piece) about 6 years ago for $700, sold it for 4x that amount about 8 months ago to be able to afford this one. Love it!

^^Nice Gold Signature! I remember opening 1994-95 Collector's Choice series 1 packs, and enjoying the Silver Signature parallels that came one per pack. Even though I knew the cards were obviously not actually autographed, I enjoyed getting to see what each player's signature generally looked like, and successfully built the series 1 Silver Signatures set. It was a bit disappointing to see Upper Deck not even attempt to get the rookie signatures for series 2, where each rookie's card has their team name in handwriting instead of their name.

In trying to stay with the 1994-95 Collector's Choice theme, I'll share a card that I'd love to know more about where it actually originated from. It's clearly a derivative of the regular base card from the set, but was it actually put out by Upper Deck, or is it an aftermarket production? European or Asian release? If anybody has any more information on this card, or knows of other players being produced like this, I'd love to know more!!! In the meantime, hopefully some can enjoy some of the "ahead of its time" effects on this beauty:
