You know, that's the exact same argument that was being made last year about Ohtani. "He's not the best pitcher OR the best hitter! Pitchers have their own award!"

In hindsight, I totally agree. I think there were a ton of people last year that just didn't know how to quantify a dual-role player (myself included).

I still think there is a bit of underselling even today.

Telling you guys if the voters are going on last impressions Judge is not helping himself any, he has had 1 home run in his last ten games yes his on base percentage looks great but that is not what is going to win an mvp.

I'm not sure voters haven't already made up their mind and voted. Besides, who's must watch TV right now, Judge or Ohtani? Nobody is breaking in on college football games or demanding a rain delay game be resumed again to get ratings because Ohtani is playing.

When must watch theater becomes a walk or lately a strikeout it is not endearing people who normally don’t watch baseball. I think people were tuning into Ohtani the other night when he had the no hitter for 7 and 2/3rds innings. I think Judge will win but this last stretch is making it a lot closer than it had to be.

Maybe the older baseball fans, but no hitters are boring to the younger generation. They want to see offense. Even I'm getting bored over some of these Yankees games lately against the Orioles when it's slow going on the offense on both sides.

Thing is most playoff games are low scoring but more exciting than watching a high scoring blowout.

I don't mind playoff games being low scoring because they actually mean something and every pitch is full of excitement. A worthless game against the a 4th place team already eliminated from the expanded Wild Card where the Yankees can't score is boring.

No hitters are special and so rare...its a treat/change.

I think Judge still wins, but it's a hell of a lot closer than you are making it out to be.

Let's also not forget the last time someone won a Triple Crown it also was a relatively close vote. Cabrera didn't win by too much over Trout that year.

How do you weight those when you create “over average”?

Ohtani bats and pitches less frequent than a full time player at both positions… so should he only get 80% of his score?
