It is absolutely time, though, that Treinen not be allowed on the mound with anything less than a 6 run lead in this series and he should absolutely be left off the NLCS & WS roster if LA advances that far. He's got one more season left on his contract. Maybe he can get it back together during the off-season.

That last throw from Edman summed up the pucker factor at the moment.

Tell that to the front office dorks who think their little algorithms are infallible.

Maybe the first time ever I agree with the negative Roberts calls.

I have no idea wtf he was thinking there. At this point the bullpen had been so bad that there’s no reason not to ride Roki as far as that takes us.

Their best bullpen guys are all starters.
Still think we see Ohtani pitch in relief at some point.

Another title would allow them to, if necessary, just eat the 11 million Blake has them on the hook for next season, but maybe he can get it back together with a good 5 months off, which should start today.

I was wrong to despair, but they had us on the ropes, and it should’ve never got that close. Whoever is making the calls (Dave/front office dweebs) needs to make better decisions if we’re gonna repeat.

Roki is a SP and 23 years old. There’s nothing to save, as far as his ability to pitch on one day’s rest after throwing 11 pitches. Come on Dodger brass/David.

I think after spending 585m, 11m is not an issue.

Ultimately, Dave Roberts has averaged just over 100 wins in his 9 full regular seasons and during the Covid year, the team won at an absurd .717 percentage which would've equated to 116 wins. In the postseason, his teams are now 60-44, a .577 winning percentage against literally the best of the best, and poised to add on to that. These are not just good numbers, they are among the all time best.

I can see why fans of other teams don't like him, but the friendly fire Roberts catches remains ridiculous. Good luck to some Dodger fans not having their heads explode when the next manager comes along, since it seems almost impossible that person would be able to get anywhere near this level of sustained success.

Look at every other franchise at their level. They all have had years that fall apart. The Dodgers really haven’t. And his ability to keep a clubhouse together is pretty amazing. He has pulled people from the dumps to really come through in the playoffs (Joc in 2017, Baez had a great postseason). And that’s a skill. And he’s great at it.

That said, Treinen there when Sasaki was rested and you are just looking to step on the Phillies neck is just awful. He got lucky and the defense really came through huge.

He's had a premium roster every year he's managed. Give him the Tigers and see what happens.

I'm sure the Tigers wish they could have him.

Absolutely, but Roberts (and the front office, the algorithim, whatever...) are also responsible for putting the defense on the field and the batters in the box.

I give him credit for managing the egos in the clubhouse, but the game-time decision making conglomerate often blows, and he's a part of it.

It’s also often good. Both World Series clinching games were pen games.

Yup, essentially an all-star team every single year. But he manages the notorious "egos" of people like Ohtani, Kershaw, Betts, and Freeman, LOL.

Nice to see Banda come out of the bullpen to bail out Yoshi.
Not good to be down 3-1, but it could've been much worse...

Seems a little iffy to put Kershaw in for the 7th inning in particular, but then again, he only faltered there in the past after pitching 6 good innings. He should be good and fresh right now.

Agree. Was surprised to see it. But we’ll see how it goes. Sent him in to the meat grinder.
