I didn't know you could do that on this site. About to jump on that now and i'd recommend others to mute the trolls who come on here every time there's a drop to be negative. As I've said before, there's a difference between a good rational discussion and one that's overtly negative bashing the entire concept and bashing anyone who enjoys this.

As for Top Shot, can't say i'm a big fan of the 20 moments to gift but maybe in the long run it'll help the market stabilize with less flipping....or maybe it wont? Who freaking knows. I'm rooting for Top Shot to be successful and they have already been hugely successfully in a matter of months. The biggest path to continued success is giving true ownership to their customers in being able to withdraw funds whenever they want and to be able to sell/trade their moments however they see fit. It's been said before but it needs to keep being said in order for those problems to be fixed. Fix those problems and you'll have more people willing to stick around.

This exactly. Nobody is saying you HAVE to like it or you can't have an opinion that it's not going to work out. There's other posters who have that opinion who aren't constantly needling everyone else. I also find it pretty hilarious that one of the trolls, Colby, seems to have started collecting Project 70...you know the precursor to Top Shot. That thread used to be just as toxic. I got burned out by Topps Project 2020 so I'm not collecting Project 70..but I don't go into that thread and post negative stuff every chance I get. I still read the thread because I like the back and forth about the cards that come out, but I don't constantly needle those guys and ask "why do you collect this stuff" etc etc.

Read the last few pages of posts from the last few remaining people defending TS. Complaining about the vocal negativity of some people...



That's what all the pumpers sounded like for the past couple months before the bubble burst. If I had a dime for every time I saw a pumper say something patronizing and condescending like "you're just jealous that it's too late for you to get in on this amazing opportunity" whenever someone questioned TS legitimacy or wondered why someone would pay these kinds of prices for clips that you can literally view for free, just like every other owner.. there was a heavily vocal group of TS supporters who never missed an opportunity to take shots as everyone else.

You all have to expect that people will be coming back for their rounds of "Toldja so" and the accompanying schadenfreude.

Overall pretty meh. Them arbitrarily deciding what makes you a genuine collector without any prior guidance is going to be a super big turnoff.

Very interested to see where the platform goes from here. Now is obviously an opportunity for the "I told you so crowd" but the next year or so will determine if this is similar to BTC dropping back down to 3k or if its POGS.

Folks whose opinions I value highly like Bob Voulgaris are bearish on TS, while its biggest champions have seemed to stop talking about it.

If prices continue to crash in a big way, I could see myself actually buying a couple of players I like SGA, KPJ, LeBron etc. for the novelty of the whole thing. At that point it wouldnt be about collecting, but kind of similar to the times I have bought "high end" rookies of busts because they were once worth something and its a neat piece of history for me.

TS is not going anywhere and the only place is going is up, the fact that they are doing so much during beta, makes me think that they have a ton of ideas and they just trying to see what works and what doesn't.

Like with all novelty prices will skyrocket and once the hype has passed it will come down (good luck to all that rode the wave and made some cash) now the real game begins and the cool aspect of TS will be in display on the next year or so.

What hypocrisy? Some of us havent been pumping anything and have just been on the ride to see how it goes...those "pumpers" like you say, are gone so why do you still have to crap on everyone else who is still sticking around? I equate this beta to when they sold PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds as early access and the final game wasn't much different unless you were a hardcore player. That game surged in popularity and then another game came along and did it much better and was much more accessible.

Listen, I don't want to dump on Top Shot because I think the idea is sound. The execution though burned a lot of folks. They grew way too large, way too fast. Their pitch can't be around price or value, it has to be on collectability. The lack of an app basically kills the platform long term. Had they launched with an app from the start, they would have made a killing.

I don't believe there is another company that can do what Dapper has done in the last year with another major license. So basically, everyone is so far behind, it's virtually impossible to drop a product/service that would put them in the driver's seat for NFT's. I could be wrong though,

many things are still to come 3rd party marketplace, app and so on.... tell me again how much VC just got this last round?
