Considering that his 345 million dollar contract is guaranteed, why should he worry? Just get the surgery and collect the check.

I don’t have a strong opinion either way because I don’t have the necessary info/medical knowledge to weigh the pros and cons.

From an anecdotal standpoint, I know that nagging rotator cuff issues can absolutely be solved non-surgically by strengthening the surrounding muscles, but not sure how chronic subluxation issues respond to this. Either way, I’m just glad it’s his non throwing shoulder.

Yeah but it still impacts his swing.

If he was a regular guy, I’d say therapy, because how many of us have rotator cuff injuries on the reg? But he’s a 345 million dollar investment. You have to ask yourself as ownership if the constant threat of reinjury worth not having surgery.

Beauty! I just got back from the Dallas show and the Tatis were few and far between. Lots of overpriced cards. Was able to grab a Heritage Silver Metal 10 though. Congrats, great add!

It’s an interesting one, because I honestly haven’t seen chronic shoulder subluxation so I don’t know how it would respond to therapy.

I avoided the knife as a SS/P with chronic rotator cuff issues and rehabbed with a PT specializing in sports injuries as a high school senior and played virtually pain free for my remaining 4 years throughout college as a SS/3B.

I’m just not sure if subluxation can be tackled the same way. Surgery may in fact be best, I’m just not qualified enough to weigh in on it. Hoping he takes the right road for his future, whatever it may be.

Didn't think I would be able to add the Flawless rookie card to my collection anytime soon. Especially since there are only 36 of these cards available (base /20, gold /10, platinum blue /5, black 1/1). I know that some might not like it since it's a Panini product. But, I gotta say... it's a pretty nice card in hand. Still gotta pick up a base to add to my set registry. But, this will hold me over until then. =)

Love it! I missed grabbing a base when they were cheap but that's because I was grabbing the Flawless RPAs. A Flawless Tatis RC is pretty high up on my want list. Great pick up!

Wanted to add to the list of Fernando to this message board, I pulled this from a $18 RT break and then Super Expressed it, my first Kaboom pull:

BTW, amazing cards in this thread...

Thanks Arthur

Yeah, I missed out on picking one up as well for the same reason (but for me, it was the Nat Tre RPA and other Topps parallels). And, it's been on my eBay saved search for a while. But, the only one that comes up is the #64. I actually almost missed out on this one too since the seller had it as a 2020 and not 2019. I might have paid a little much for it. But, I figured that it's getting pretty hard to find them sealed and for sale and I can just sell a few of my lower-end psa 10 Tatis to help pay for it.

Sweet card. I don't have any Kaboom myself but if I were to buy one... this would be the one I want! =)

For some reason, I really like the Fire rookie. I think that the card just looks good. Plus, a lower pop count dosn't hurt at all either. =)

Totally agree on the Fire RC, it has this sort of 1st issue comic book cover to it, love it.

So, I was curious what my Flawless card would look like if it had logos. Gotta say, not bad at all. I wonder if it would even matter in a few years when Topps and Panini no longer have the MLB license. My guess is that Topps cards will demand a premium in 10-20 years. But, super rare cards will as well.

Just got this one back from PSA. Pretty happy since this is one of my favorite rookie year cards (the other is the power producers insert). Made waiting about a year all worth it. Especially since I have only about $20 invested into this card. =)

Agreed! And Melvin keeping the dream alive.

Nice pick ups too! I'm looking for the base version of the Panini Flawless #56 if anyone has one.

I think, at this point, you have to grab one whenever they surface. Including parallels they have a print run of like <40 cards and many have found their way into PC by now. I still remember when a 2018 Soto came up for auction. I put in a nuclear snipe and got it for a great price. Was so happy just to add that card to my collection.

Maybe ownership is encouraging him to have surgery, but tatis is refusing.

He has declined medical recommendations in the past.
